Camp Apache is cursed. A masked maniac is on the loose. What will you do?
In Last Friday one player will assume the role of The Maniac - a bloodthirsty killer who was rumored to drown years ago in the lake...until his body went missing at the nearby cemetery. He will stop at nothing to end the lives of all of the campers at Camp Apache.
The remaining players will play as Camp Counselors. Characters like Susan, Brenda, and Steve - fun-loving young people who are about to go on the most dangerous and deadly adventure of their lives.
But these are no ordinary counselors - while they may run scared at the beginning, they later turn into determined hunter of the murderer who menaces them and killed their friends.
Players must investigate the camp to learn more about the mystery of Camp Apache. Ultimately trying to survive the murderous attacks of the maniac and, in the end, defeat him.
A Whole New Glimpse of Terror
Last Friday features a truly unique gaming element in the Maniac Screen.
This foldable piece allows you to keep notes on where all of the Camp Apache counselors are and track their whereabouts.
Using a pen and paper you will plot where you are, where you've been, and use this information in various ways throughout the four stages of the game.
This keeps the maniac moves secret while inside the screen is a complete map of the camp. It also provides a summary of the interactions between the counselors for each chapter, a summary table of Cabin tiles the maniac can open, and a peephole through which to view the game board.
Found nowhere else, the Maniac Screen is a unique way for Last Friday to increase immersion and really push the theme of an 80's slasher pic.
Four Chapters of Horror
In Last Friday there are four unique chapters to each game, played in succession:
Chapter One: Arriving At The Camp
The newly arrived counselors discover their employers have organized a welcome treasure hunt and the keys to their cabins have been hidden along the lakeshore. Then, one camper notices a strange shadow moving among the trees...
Chapter Two: The Chase
The maniac came back to kill again, but some of the campers were able to pull through and survive the night, barricading themselves within the cabins. Some of the survivors were able to gather makeshift weapons. They only have a few hours to catch the maniac before he disappears for the day, likely to return the following night.
Chapter Three: The Massacre
One of the counselors was able to catch the maniac and the campers took revenge for their fallen friends. The campers threw the maniac's body into the lake. They've made a mistake, however, as the maniac has crawled out of the murky waters of the lake with a thirst for blood.
Chapter Four: The Final Chapter
The final showdown! Scattered corpses litter the maniac's wake and he is still on the loose, but the sun is beginning to rise - can you and your friends send the maniac to his eternal rest?
