The De Stijl art movement, led by Theo van Doesburg and Piet Mondrian, sought out a means of expressing a sense of order and harmony. Artists of the movement incorporated a variety of artistic influences and media in an effort to develop a truly modern aesthetic. Mondrian's Neo-Plasticism, or New Plastic art, stripped away the traditional elements of art, such as perspective and representation, utilizing only primary colors and straight lines. De Stijl seeks to honor the legacy of the Mondrian style, putting the bold primary colors and straight lines on display in a quick, simple, and fun game for 2-5 Players!
Choose and place cards from the Gallery so that the Painting (the play area) contains as many separate "strokes" in your color as possible. Each separate stroke scores one point, with a bonus awarded to the players with the largest strokes. The player whose color is most prominent in the final Painting wins!
