Hello all and happiest of days to each of you! Today I am counting down the 2nd batch of good cards from our most recent and long overdue return to one of the best kindred blocks ever with tons of flavor giving us the planeswalker and kindred type, wither and persist and -1/-1 counters matter and Mulldrifter and Bitterblossom and evoke and Scarecrows and tons more, but this is for casual formats like Commander, multiplayer, Type Four, Five Color, Peasant and Pauper and tons more!
Check out last week's article for more stuff!
#19. Formidable Speaker
This three-drop 2/4 can tap with one mana to untap any permanent from dorks to lands to Sol Rings. Also, anything can be untapped not just our stuff, so if a foe attacks another, you can untap a blocker to keep them alive or trade with it. Or you can make nice by untapping lands for a mana-screwed person too on their turn. Then when it ETBs you can discard to Eladamri's Call too. Right? I got you!
#18. Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn // Isilu, Caller of Twlight
This legendary mono-white Elemental God that transforms into a black God. This five-drop on curve 5/5 flyer with lifelink too! Then our creature spells are cheaper with convoke. Then we can swap for a black in our first main phase to one that now gives our cheaper dorks persist to keep them around! Nice for twice I know.
#17. Goliath Daydreamer
This four-drop 4/4 on curve red rare is next. It's got a Spellslinger trigger for instants and sorcery cast from our hand and you exile it as it resolves, and then when this swings you can cast one for free. Not bad for free copies, and that can be the same turn if cast before swinging. But it does go to the graveyard on the resolution for free and cannot be recast unless brought to our hand by Regrowth effects. Great for Relentless Assaults in his color or Time Walks outside or burn like Bolt and such too.
#16. Morningtide's Light
This four-cost sorcery exiles itself on resolution, and then exiles all target dorks we care too and then they come back tapped EOT. You don't have to target your stuff if you want to get your swing on and then they come back tapped for an Alpha Strike, then other players at multiplayer do the same too. Or you can blink our stuff in mass to get triggers too. Or save our stuff from a Blasphemous Act about to be cast. Right? Then all damage is prevented to us by swigning out for a round of turns so in multiplayer, they cannot punish you by opening the door with your swing! The only issue is that you need to target them.
#15. Raiding Schemes
This five-drop Gruul take on Spellslinger enchantment is next. As we cast any non-creature spell we can make a copy by tapping two dorks that share a color. That's great for vivid, Five Color brews, and not just instants and sorceries like earlier here too. That's great with permanents like artifacts or enchantments too.
#14. Chronicle of Victory
Next up is this six-drop legendary colorless artifact! As it arrives choose a creature type and then they get first strike, trample and a nice +2/+2 size boost too. Then we can draw as we cast those type spells too - making this an uber great kindred tool with a colorless color requirement!
#13. Dose of Dawnglow
Next is this five-cost instant speed black uncommon Zombify! It brings back one thing, but if not on our main phase there is a cost to blight 2. Not bad if we have ways to dump those counters, or the next charting card either.
#12. Lasting Tarfire
This two-drop enchantment is next. It's a bit of a win-con with that shooting each foe for two in each end step (not just ours) if we added a counter on a dork! Note that's also not ours either, okay?
#11. Omni-Changeling
This is a five-drop uncommon take on Clone, where it becomes a copy of any dork but with changeling and convoke to drop it faster if needed. Every casual player adores Clones.
#10. Noggle the Mind
This two-cost flashing Aura blue can turn what it enchants into a 1/1 Noggle with no abilities. And? It sticks! Brilliant for dorks that are key to winning like Guttersnipe or a Commander from coming back with a tax too! Yay for that with flash, and you also remove indestructible too, and drop the size, so it's even a good combat trick too.
#9. Lavaleaper
This four-drop is my favorite card in the set for casual play since it's all about helping everyone out, us too. This 4/4 red rare gives everything haste, not just us, yay! Then everyone, foes too, get another mana when tapping a basic. Note that's basics, so you can lay around that or have things like Land Tax or Rampant Growths. I adore it!
#8. Glen Elendra Guardian
This three-drop flashing flying rare Faerie Wizard is next with a -1/-1 counter on it as this arrives and then can pull it off for two mana to Negate but they'll draw too. It's also on a 3/4 base body - which isn't bad for the punching there either. I love a flash counter that sticks with flying too since there are so many ways to make this work.
#7. Rhys, the Evermore
This awesome two-drop flashing legendary rare Bear will persist another dork on arrival. That's great for stuff like saving our stuff from combat damage or targeted removal too. Or even a combo piece or something key from mass removal too, our own included!
#6. Kinscaer Sentry
This awesome two-drop Bear rare white first strike and lifelinker is great when it attacks to drop an attacking and tapped dork for free equal to our attackers cost or less. Love it much! Note that attacker dropped sticks around.
#5. Mutable Explorer
This three-drop 1/1 rare changeling is one of my top flavor hits here. On arrival? Make a tapped Mutavault. That's the best ramp for a three-drop dork since the land arrives tapped and is any creature type too! I hope you adore this flavor hit like I do too!
#4. Doran, Besieged by Time
This four-drop Abzan new take on Doran! It's a familiar with dropping our high toughness costs by one and then 0/5 too and now our stuff gets pumped by the difference and its power in size when it swings or blocks too. That's not higher power stuff dropping like Savannah Lions or Ball Lightning and then not our foes stuff at all! Also, they don't deal toughness in damage too. I have already called and built around it here:
#3. Bitterbloom Bearer
Next up is this fun two-drop flashing 1/1 black flying mythic dork who is a Bitterblossom too. This is great for making flying tokens and with flash can be dropped EOT and then used in our upkeep without giving folks knowledge to answer it. But it's a bit unfair in so many places and I don't like it there.
#2. Prismatic Undercurrents
This amazing four-mana ramper grabs our vivid count in basics to our hand and this is green so that's the minimum there too. Then we also have an extra land drop per turn while out too, which is brilliant as Exploration meets Lay of the Land stuff.
#1. Dream Harvest
This seven-cost sorcery is a bit of a nasty win-con Dimir but hybrid that has our foes exile stuff until they exiled at least five mana value! Then we can cast them for free! Free stuff is always nasty here and there, even foe's stuff too top of their library - it's just so strong to go.
There we go! What's your second favorite stuff? Check us out next week for more!
