Commanding the Unpronounceable Borborygmos and Fblthp

Hello awesome Commander fans! Happiest of days today! Today we are going to do something fun! We are building around the unpronounceable Borborygmos and Fblthp. Let's look at them!

Borborygmos and Fblthp

They are a five drop in Blue, Red and Green, which gives you ramp, counters, and burn. When this ETBs, (or attacks) you can draw and then if you want, discard any number of lands to shoot for twice that amount of lands to a dork only. Pretty limited, and we'll be building around their card flow and then I you need to burn a dork, you can, but I don't think that a five drop Commander is going to be wanting to discard a bunch of lands, and this is a pretty limited burn target radius that doesn't hit planeswalkers or players. Instead, we'll be building a "discard matters" deck.

Ready for the deck? I got cha!

Let's start with the ramping.

Ramp, Rocks, and Lands

Cultivate
Seek the Horizon

Since my leaders cost 5, we cannot drop them on the fourth turn any easier with Rampant Growth or Cultivate, so the latter and Kodama's Reach are here. They are card advantage and net you a card in hand for the discarding. The four-mana Seek will stop your mana issues by giving you three basics but into your hand for discarding or dropping, either way works here!

Boseiju, Who Endures can tap for mana immediately and then will channel for no more than two to Naturalize or Wasteland a foe's thing at instant speed, and then they ramp. It's awesome, and then both other channel lands are here too. Drownyard Temple taps for colorless, and if you discarded it, you can return it to your battlefield for 3 mana. Nasty!

Rogue's Passage
Ketria Triome

Since our leader needs to attack to deal their trigger, we need ways to make them unblockable, enter the Passage. This'll tap with four mana to give a dork unblockable. It'll also serve as a Commander Damage kill too. It'll target others. I am running many key dual lands that'll get fetched by Farseek and Friends. Then we also have the tri land Triome here.

Tranquil Thicket
Krosan Tusker

Since this is discard-matters, I add in every cycling land so if you get to a place where you have too many lands, just cycle and move on! Then we have the amazing Tusker here to cycle, draw, and grab you a land for your hand and then it's two for one at instant speed, and the land is in your hand for discarding purposes!

Life from the Loam costs two, returns three, and has dredge to cast over and over again. I am also running Crucible of Worlds and similar effects. Oracle of Mul Daya is a classic four-drop 2/2 with the ability to play lands from your library and get two drops each turn. It's an iconic card in this oeuvre! I am also running things here like Exploration that do the same. Nasty fun times, commence!

Synergies and Winning Conditions

Whispersilk Cloak
Splendid Reclamation

Check out this pair; just like Rogue's Passage we need a way to ensure combat damage triggers. Enter this equipment, that gives unblockablilty. I am also running Trailblazer's Boots to give the same thing. The Reclamation is your mass recursion spell, here costing just four mana. It's very strong at the fun times commencing all day and night! It's the best recursion spell in this deck.

Abundance
Glint-Horn Buccaneer

Since I am running Sylvan Library for card flow, I tossed in Abundance for that combo to draw three cards each turn, and they can be lands or nonlands as you need. Even without it, a guaranteed land every turn could be quite nice. The Pirate is awesome here! With a three-cost 2/4 body with haste, and then when you discard you ting your foes for one damage each, a wincon here. Then if you swing with him, you can discard and draw, which tings and draws.

Surly Badgersaur
Rielle, the Everwise

As is this Dinosaur with the three discard triggers! Discard a land? Make a Treasure! Discard a dork Make a +1/+1 counter here! Discard something else? It fights. Nasty! Then Rielle is super cool here. With her 0/3 blocking body, and she gets power equal to our instant and sorcery in graveyard count, which is quite high here. Once a turn, when you discard, draw that many cards. You can see why I tossed her in!

Next up: did lands hit your graveyard from anywhere? Like your hand? Put a +1/+1 counter on Slogurk, the Overslime. You can remove three to bounce it, and then return up to three lands to your hand for more discarding fun times! Borborygmos Enraged is more card flow, answers and a discard engine all in one tight smashing package.

Answers

Heroic Intervention
Fierce Guardianship

There are three types of answers: answers to answers, counters, and removal. Ready for the answers to answers with the Intervention, a classic go-wide way to answer burn, mass removal, or targeted removal. Nasty. Then the counters include Negate, Counterspell and this often free one for three mana if not. It counters any answer to your stuff, things you care about, as well as other stuff of a non-dork nature! It's pretty strong as people remove Ravenous Chupacabra for Murder and other things.

Now this stuff arises! We have targeted removal like Chaos Warp and Beast Within for emergency removal if needed. It's very strong at answering anything, and with a 40-life start, we really don't care about a grounded 3/3 given to them. Mizzium Mortars cost two and shoots an opposing dork for 4 at sorcery speed. Then you can overload it for 6 to hit everything else for 4, but it's a bit red, so it might not always be doable in this three-color deck. Mass removal is needed.

Card Draw

Let's finish with card draw. I added three Discard and Draw 7s, although Windfall might not get you seven. Since you are running discard triggers that made sense. The miracle one costs 5 normally, but can but can be just two with miracle. The Change is a sorta draw seven for just you for four mana. You discard and then draw equal to the cards you discarded...this turn. So, if you discarded a land to your Commander, then you can get another card drawn with the Change. And then you can also net extra from your discard to draw effects. It has all of the strengths here.

Trade Routes
Compulsion

Check out this pair of Blue discard to draw enchantments. The former one can spend one to discard a land to draw a card. It basically gives them cycling and works with your triggers. You can also spend a mana to bounce a land to your hand, and then another to discard it or to discard to your Commander for damage. Then the latter can spend two to discard anything to draw, again playing into this infrastructure of discarding fun times. Nasty good pair of discards to draw two drop enchantments in Blue.
