Hello everyone! It's MTGBert back again to bring you a Legendary Creature Spotlight! There are just so many cards coming out these days it is super easy to miss some of them. That's where I come in! I will go over the card's strengths , synergies and even a decklist so you know what to look for when you brew the deck. The Legendary Creature in the spotlight today is going to be Far Fortune, End Boss. Let's get into it!

The Star

Far Fortune, End Boss is a four mana 4/5 with the Start your engines. The Reminder text for Start your engines! Is as follows: If you have no speed, it starts at 1. It increases once on each of your turns when an opponent loses life. Max speed is 4. Far Fortune also has another ability, "Whenever you attack, Far Fortune deals 1 damage to each opponent." Finally, we have our Max Speed text. If a source you control would deal damage to an opponent or a permanent an opponent controls, it deals that much damage plus 1 instead. This is a lot to take in, so let's go over it piece by piece. First, we get speed if we don't have any and can increase it by having an opponent lose life on our turn. Far Fortune does a pretty good job of doing this with the attack trigger, but we want max speed as soon as possible and we will go over ways to do so in the synergies section. Max speed makes it so our effects deal an extra point of damage to our opponents and permanents they control. This is a very sweet ability that can be easily overlooked as it takes a few turns to get there. I mentioned synergies, so let's go over our background players for this deck.

Background Players

To get started we want... no we NEED to get our engines started as early as possible. We have a few ways to do this. In our land slots we have Avishkar Raceway and Muraganda Raceway, having these in the land slots is great as we can get our speed started and can still do damage with another spell in our arsenal. Other early game cards include Gas Guzzler, Gastral Thrilseeker (which notably will get us to two speed on the same turn we cast it), Momentum Breaker and Hazoret, Godseeker. An opening hand with these is ideal but I did build the deck in a way so that we can still do massive plays.

There is a token and aristocrat theme that will take priority until we get our speed to four. Once we get there out tokens and aristocrat damage takes a huge jump as we start dealing extra instances of damage. Let me also take a moment to say that there are some life loss effects in the deck and Far Fortune does not add to those, The effect must say damage. Regardless, the life loss effects that are peppered in will cause our speed to go up so it is at least helpful for the overall goal. Life loss effects like Vraan, Executioner Than, Funeral Room // Awakening Hall, Risky Shortcut and Stormfist Crusader all have there place and will accelerate us to our goal in no time.

Let's take a moment to talk about the effect that Far Fortune does increase. So, one of the cards that will definitely do work in this deck is going to be Raid Bombardment. Most of our creatures are going to be on the smaller side and dispensable so getting that extra damage. Cavalcade of Calamity is a card with a similar text but I neglected to add this as it doesn't catch most of our creatures which makes it a bit worse than Raid Bombardment. To keep the damage rolling in, Razorkin Needlehead is a card that will damage those players that attempt to draw additional cards. One damage per card is nice but two puts us in Sheoldred, the Apocalypse territory! Another cheeky include is Creeping Bloodsucker. The bonus here is that we can get some extra life off the damage being dealt here giving us some time to out last our opponents. I could spend all day telling you each card but how about I give you the decklist!
