We've got a great group of Magic artists lined up to attend CoolStuffCon in just a few months, and today we're going to be talking about Ben Hill!

There are so many fantastic reasons to go visit an artist's booth. You can see if they'll sign your cards featuring art they've created. You can see if they have artist proofs or canvas-sized versions of your favorite art. They sometimes have unique playmats or tokens that they've created which you can't find anywhere else.
Magic artists are all about art, and you can bet that Ben Hill has some absolute bangers in his lineup.
Ben Hill's Early Cards
Ben may only have 28 cards in his repertoire so far, but he's got some solid hits, so you can bet he'll be busy with signatures at CoolStuffCon.

Starting with Streets of New Capenna (SNC), Ben made quite the majestic splash with Majestic Metamorphosis, which costs ![]()
.

Starting with a great combat trick for Limited formats is a great way to start off. Next up came Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate (CLB). Ben landed four cards here, including two Legendary Creatures: Astral Confrontation for ![]()
, Windshaper Planetar (![]()
), Sarevok, Deathbringer (![]()
), and Astarion, the Decadent (![]()
![]()
).

Moving on from there, Ben then won the hearts of serialized collectors everywhere with four fantastic Artifacts from The Brothers' War Retro Artifacts (BRR). The first two are great for mana: Caged Sun for
and Chromatic Lantern for
.

The other two are strong for Activated Abilities: Jalum Tome for
and Quicksilver Amulet, which costs
to cast.
Ben then created some lesser played cards in March of the Machine (MOM), Wilds of Eldraine (WOE), and Murders at Karlov Manor (MKM), including Likeness Looter (![]()
) and Audience with Trostani (![]()
).

Despite seeing limited play, they all had fantastic art. The Angel on Wojek Investigator (![]()
) alone is phenomenal and worth the trip to his artist table.
Ben Hill's Newer Works
Alongside the release of Outlaws of Thunder Junction (OTJ) came a delightful little extra set to represent true treasure. Hitting this feels like rolling a Nat-20 when playing Dungeons and Dragons, leading to its name The Big Score (BIG).

Ben knocked it out of the park with three of the showcase arts for The Big Score: Collector's Cage for ![]()
, Esoteric Duplicator for ![]()
, and Lotus Ring for
.
Showcase art from this set were great because you knew you just hit big when you got one of these. Collector's Cage was a Standard powerhouse in its prime, Esoteric Duplicator has found its way into many Artifact-based Commander decks by now, and Lotus Ring is one of very few Black Lotus-esque cards in Magic, which Ben absolutely crushed with its pristine art.

Ben Hill also created three of the beautiful borderless alternate arts for cards in Avatar: The Last Airbender (TLA).
With a mana cost of ![]()
![]()
, the The Fire Nation Drill's art just showed off an iconic scene from the show when Sokka was explaining how to take down the Drill before it reaches the wall.
Speaking of a Wall, Ben also did The Walls of Ba Sing Se, that has a mana cost of
, lending to the other side of that story's coin. Remember, there is no war in Ba Sing Se.
Arguably one of the coolest names for a fleet of airships, Phoenix Fleet Airship was the last of the three arts that Ben did for Avatar, and it's definitely a winner for coolest possible Commander from Ben's choices, now that Vehicles can be your Commander.

Finally, and likely to be Ben's most requested signature on his cards, comes Modern sideboard all-star Consign to Memory for
.
Final Thoughts
Ben Hill hasn't been one of Magic's artists as long as some others, but his art is absolutely stellar, so be sure to check out his booth at CoolStuffCon this Halloween!
