Product Details

Battle for China is a simulation of the "War of Resistance Against Japan" from the initial Japanese invasion in July 1937, to the end of 1941. The game is for two players, one directing the military forces acting to defend China against the Japanese invader, and the other the forces of Imperial Japan. The game can also be played with a third player taking the Chinese Communist forces.

NOTE: This product went through a major update in 2008 and is now called Battle For China DELUXE. It includes 2 additional maps [extends the North and South edges of the original map], 2 additional sheets of counters, expanded rules, and expanded tables. Also known as MORE Battle For China!

There are three new games in this expansion set: the Pacific War game (1942&8209;45), the Civil War game (1946&8209;49) and the Campaign Game (1937&8209;49). The Pacific War game can be played on its own or as an extension of the Basic game. In the Pacific War game, the Chinese player will control all KMT, CCP, Western Allies, and Soviet units. The Japanese player will control all IJA and puppet troops units. Optionally, there may be a third player who controls all CCP units. The game may end when either the KMT or CCP PS level is reduced to 0. The game must end when the Japanese PS level reaches 0. In the Civil War game, there will be two players. The KMT player will control all KMT units and the CCP player will control all CCP units. The game will end when either side's PS level reaches 0. In the Campaign Game, there are two or three players. Play begins in mid&8209;1937 with the Basic Game, continues on until the Japanese surrender in China, and thence to the end of the resumed civil war between the Nationalists and Communists. Historically this took over 12 years (49 turns); see if you can bring peace to China in less time.
