Sam Black has won the 2016 Super Sunday Series Championship! The tournament, made up of competitors who won qualifiers held at Grand Prix events last year, took place at Wizards of the Coast Headquarters in Renton, Washington. Players got to try their hand at Standard and Draft featuring the latest cards from Oath of the Gatewatch.

Despite the addition of Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet to the format, Sam Black and Reid Duke both ran Rally the Ancestors decks in the Standard portion of the event. While Black managed to compile a 2-0-2 record, it was enough to propel him to the Top 8 draft where he defeated Thiago Rodrigues' Blue-White Fliers deck with a Sultai deck powered by Ob Nixilis, Reignited.
