Now that we can see the full list of cards from Aether Revolt, there is one specific card that jumps out at me, Fatal Push. This card is going to be an all star in Standard, Modern and Legacy. Modern and Legacy are filled with fetch lands that will easily allow you to enable the Revolt mechanic. This card fits perfectly in strategies like Jund, Abzan and Grixis Control. Having a proper response is a great way to be ahead of your opponents. With cards like Abrupt Decay, Lightning Bolt, and Fatal Push being the first line of defense and disruption, this week I built a deck that is mostly immune to these forms of interaction. The strategy I came up with was a deck that gets a little ahead on mana with cards like Noble Hierarch. Then, with creatures that have Come Into Play abilities and Planeswalkers, you bring a form of pressure that is quick and your opponent can't handle. Not to mention this deck is just super fun!

I mentioned Fatal Push, but the other card that has me really excited is Kari Zev's Expertise. No card in Standard will have such a big effect on the board at such a low casting cost. It is exactly the type of card that I look for in an aggro deck, high impact and very efficient. My first brew of the season is an update to B/R Aggro. I set the Madness theme aside so that I could fit in some new cards, including Fatal Push and Zev's Expertise. Implement of Combustion looks inconspicuous but it enables Spire of Industry, Inventor's Apprentice, Fatal Push and if we sacrifice it using Pia Nalaar, we still get the card. Glint-Sleeve Siphoner is an exciting new variant of Dark Confidant and allows the game to snow ball into our favor. Kari Zev, Skyship Raider is a new aggressive 2-drop and is also another enabler for Fatal Push. Finally, the last card to mention is Spire of Industry. The one thing I hated about pairing Ally Colors was many of the lands came into play tapped, but Spire of Industry helps solve that problem.
