Judge's Corner: Protection


In the second episode of Judge's Corner we discuss Protection: what does it cover and what sneaks by? Are your creatures protected?

Protection keeps a permanent protected by whatever the ability stated. You will see an example for each of the 4 main abilities of Protection, which can be summed up by the acronym D.E.B.T.

  • D for Damage.
  • E for Enchantments (also Equipments and Fortifications).
  • B for Blocking.
  • T for Targeting.

That's a lot of questions for one mechanic, but they commonly arise in a typical game of Magic. That's why we have Judge's Corner!
