Hello everyone. It's no secret that I'm a big fan of playing Red/White decks. With Boros Charm recently being reprinted into Standard, I figured now is as good of a time as any to take a look at some Boros decks that you can play for fun against your friends or at your local game store at one of their tournaments. Let's get started.
Boros Multi Attack
We'll get started by taking a look at a deck that wants to attack a lot. Let's take a look at the deck.

Full Throttle is a sorcery that gives you two additional combat phases during your turn. It also allows you to untap each creature that attacked this turn at the beginning of each combat this turn. In a normal deck with creatures, you can see how this could be very effective at pushing through a lot of damage. However, if your opponent is able to block your creatures, you could quickly run out of steam. This deck has an answer to this problem.
By having a copy of Urabrask's Forge on the battlefield, you'll add an oil counter to Urabrask's Forge and then create an X/1 Phyrexian Horror creature token with trample and haste at the beginning of each combat phase. The power of this token will be equal to the number of oil counters on Urabrask's Forge. Since you'll be creating additional X/1 Phyrexian Horror creature tokens each combat, you never have to worry about running out of steam, and can quickly steamroll your opponent.
Boros Convoke
Next, I have a deck that can get some explosive starts. Let's check it out.

- 4 Inspiring Vantage
- 4 Sunbillow Verge
The Boros Convoke archetype has been around in Standard for a while, but it just got even better. The basic gameplan is to use the convoke ability of Knight-Errant of Eos to get it into play early. This lets you get up to two creature cards from the top six cards of your deck to put into your hand, helping ensure you have future plays to make and putting your opponent further behind.
The ideal starting hand for this deck used to include a copy of Knight-Errant of Eos along with a copy of Novice Inspector and a copy of Gleeful Demolition. With the release of Aetherdrift, you can now substitute Novice Inspector with a copy of Nesting Bot, giving you more ways to pull this combo off. By sacrificing either the Clue token or Nesting Bot with Gleeful Demolition, you'll have enough creatures to convoke Knight-Errant of Eos into play.
Boros Burn
The final deck I have for you uses its spells to deal a lot of direct damage to your opponent's life total. Let's take a look at the deck.

- Sideboard (7)
- 1 Abrade
- 1 Get Lost
- 1 Monstrous Rage
- 1 Untimely Malfunction
- 1 Requisition Raid
- 1 Outpace Oblivion
- 1 Boommobile
This deck is chock-full of spells that you can use to finish your opponent off. Boltwave deals 3 damage to your opponent for a single mana. Burst Lightning can deal 2 damage in the early game, but if you wait until you're able to kick this spell, it will deal 4 damage instead. Boros Charm can also deal 4 points of direct damage to your opponent. You also have Lightning Helix which essentially provides a 6 point life swing, dealing 3 to your opponent and healing you by 3.
Screaming Nemesis can be the most important creature in this deck. If you're able to block or be blocked by one of your opponent's creatures, you can deal the same amount of damage it takes to your opponent, which will cause them to be unable to gain life for the remainder of the game. You can even target Screaming Nemesis with one of your own burn spells like Burst Lightning or Lightning Helix to make sure they aren't able to gain life throughout the game.
Wrapping Up
As a color pairing, Boros really scratches the itches I have to both play aggressively and to control the board. No other color pairing comes close to filling all of my desires when playing. Do you have a favorite color pairing?
What do you think of these decks? Feel free to share this article with your friends anywhere on social media. And be sure to join me here again next week as I continue my search for innovative decks in Standard. I'll see you then!
