Sweet Three-Color Decks for Karlov Manor Standard

Reddit

Hello everyone. Normally, when a new set releases, I like to take a look at some two-colored decks right away to find one I like playing. However, right now the lands in Standard make it so easy to play three-color decks. So, this week I'll be looking at a few three-colored decks that I think look like a blast to play. Let's get started.

Temur Turbo Slime Against Humanity

The first deck I have for you features one of my favorite new cards, Slime Against Humanity. Let's take a look at the deck.

Slime Against Humanity

Slime Against Humanity is the ultimate card to play against any deck that's running multiple board wipes. When you cast it, you'll be able to create a 0/0 Ooze creature token with a number of +1/+1 counters on it equal to the number of cards named Slime Against Humanity you have in your graveyard or in exile. So, no matter how many times your opponent cleanses the battlefield of your threats, your next casting of Slime Against Humanity is likely to result in an even bigger Ooze.

Every spell in this deck offers you the means of discarding or milling cards, so you're sure to be able to get some massive Ooze creature tokens into play. Cathartic Pyre has two modes, one that lets you deal direct damage to either a creature or a planeswalker, and one that lets you discard up to two cards to draw an equal amount of cards from your library. Founding the Third Path allows you to read ahead, which is good since chapter one would only be useful to cast Cathartic Pyre from your hand.

The adventure of Hearth Elemental, Stoke Genius, lets you discard your hand to draw two new cards. This is a great way to get multiple copies of Slime Against Humanity into your graveyard. Later, you can cast Hearth Elemental for as little as one Red mana, depending on how many instant, sorceries, or cards with an adventure you have in your graveyard. Picklock Prankster also has an adventure that mills four cards, Free the Fae. You then get to put an instant, sorcery, or Faerie card from those milled cards into your hand. This can be a great way to mill a copy or two of Slime Against Humanity, and then cast one of those cards.

Bant Dopplegang

The next deck I have for you allows you to create multiple copies of anything in play. Let's check it out.

Doppelgang
Doppelgang allows you to create copies of multiple target permanents. The number of copies you can create is equal to the number of permanents you can target, which is limited by the amount of mana you can spend while casting this spell. That makes it important to be able to create as much mana as possible, in order to make the most when casting this spell. This deck uses a variety of methods to help increase the amount of mana it can produce.

Both Shigeki, Jukai Visionary and Aftermath Analyst help with this. Each of these creatures is able to place lands directly into your graveyard. At some point during the game, you could use Aftermath Analyst's ability to return all of the lands from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped. Alternatively, you could also use Splendid Reclamation to do this same thing. There's also three copies of Buried in the Garden that act as both removal and mana acceleration.

Once you have a sufficient amount of mana, you can cast Doppelgang to make copies of any permanent in play. Unlike most of the spells that create copies, Doppelgang isn't limited to only creating creature tokens. With it, you can create copies of any permanent, including lands, enchantments, and planeswalkers. You're also not limited to only creating copies of your own permanents, so feel free to create copies of anything your opponent has in play. If they don't have anything great to copy, you can't go wrong copying Titan of Industry for a ton of value.

Sultai Mill

The final deck I have for you this week features an alternate way of winning, which you all know I enjoy. Let's take a look at the deck.

Outrageous Robbery
For this deck to mill out its opponent, you will be utilizing only one spell. Outrageous Robbery allows you to exile a variable number of cards from the top of your opponent's library. Those cards will be exiled face down, so your opponent will have no idea of what they've lost. you are able to look at and play those cards for as long as they remain exiled, using mana of any color to cast spells you find there. This allows you to play their lands and defeat them with their own spells.

Since Outrageous Robbery has a variable cost, you'll want to have access to as much mana as possible. You can do this with the help of a few cards. Glimpse the Core lets you get a Forest from your library, putting it onto the battlefield tapped. Topiary Stomper allows you to find any basic land card to put onto the battlefield tapped. Finally, Invasion of Zendikar // Awakened Skyclave lets you search your library for two basic land cards that you can put into play tapped. These extra lands will all help you cast Outrageous Robbery efficiently.

However, this deck is capable of milling out your opponent with a single casting of Outrageous Robbery. This is done with the help of Virtue of Strength. While this enchantment is in play, your basic lands will produce three times the amount of mana they would normally produce. Plus, the effects of Virtue of Strength are cumulative. So, if you have two Virtue of Strengths on the battlefield, you'll get nine times the amount of mana that would normally be produced by your basic lands. That can end games on the spot.

Wrapping Up

Each of the decks I've shown you this week features a new card from Murders at Markov Manor. Slime Against Humanity, Doppelgang, and Outrageous Robbery are just a few of the new cards that are causing waves in Standard. I know, I'm excited to give each of these decks a try.

What do you think of these decks? Feel free to share this article with your friends anywhere on social media. And be sure to join me here again next week as I continue my search for innovative decks in Standard. I'll see you then!
