You can also find all your Innistrad Remastered needs right here on CoolStuffInc.com, including several retro frame and borderless poster treatment cards.

More Chaos Vault Reveals

Following a previous secret drop of a cool one-off Secret Lair drop (The Fairest Drop of All) under the name of the Chaos Vault, Wizards is back at it again. This time including an announcement explaining what Chaos Vault is, Wizards revealed the next round of Chaos Vault drops. These included packs of ten basic lands with some very trippy artwork, with some pieces being memed on across the internet for, shall we say, similarities to the work of Georgia O'Keefe

The article also showcased several pieces of art (like the one above) to be utilized in future Chaos Vault drops. These are expected to be much more experimental and will represent more special runs for the Secret Lair and may also include non-card items such as hats down the line. If you'd like to get your hands on some of these lands, all of them - aside from the Island - are still available at the time of writing on the Secret Lair store here.

A New Distribution Method for Universes Within

Wizards of the Coast also put out an announcement the same day about the future of Universes Within. Previously, mechanically unique versions of Universes Beyond Secret Lair cards saw Universes Within variations in The List. This included cards from The Walking Dead, Stranger Things, and Street Fighter Secret Lairs. Now that The List has been phased out as of late 2024, this leaves the Universes Within line of cards in a somewhat precarious position.

It was revealed that to help mitigate this, Wizards would be partnering with local game stores to provide special Secret Lairs to help get these Universes Within versions into players' hands. Additionally, some will see alternate methods of distribution from this, such as the Universes Within versions of the Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves Secret Lair. These special versions of these cards will be handed out to players who attend Limited events at their local game stores starting on April 25th. You can find all the details on this side of the announcement here.

Decklist of the Week

A few weeks ago, I covered some of the earliest decks coming out following the banned and restricted announcement. However, one particularly notable one I missed with the Mox Opal unban was Temur Breach (aka Grinding Station Combo). This deck has soared to the top of the format's metagame over the past month with really strong numbers and is expected to be a favorite going into the upcoming regional championship events. The deck wins by combining Grinding Station with Underworld Breach and any zero mana artifact to flip your deck into your graveyard. Eventually you start pulling mana-generating artifacts to make two Blue mana for Thassa's Oracle and win the game. Be sure you're ready for this deck in any Modern event you play coming up.
