Have you heard the news? CommandFests are officially back once again in 2025! Announced on the Daily MTG/Magic.gg website, several of these popular events will be taking place all over the world. The very first one is happening in Orlando, Florida from April 18th through April 20th as a part of the all new CoolStuffCon Orlando!
If you attended previous CoolStuff Events, the experience will likely seem very familiar to you. The event is once again being held at the Hyatt Regency near the Orange County Convention Center with the main focus being the overall CommandFest experience, but you'll notice things are a little different this time around.
First and foremost, entry into the event hall is totally free! That means you can meet people, see your favorite creators, and hit up all the vendors at absolutely no cost to you. If you're looking to attend the CommandFest, this still requires paid entry to the Command Zone, but that's for those looking for the full experience. $79.99 will get you a basic CommandFest package, but if you're looking to get a little more competitive, you can pay $99.99 and also gain entry to the cEDH $5,000 event!
That's right, the big change coming to CoolStuffCon is the wider experience! You can see on the CoolStuff Events website that there'll be a Magic Regional Championship Qualifier happening. That means players are no longer limited to playing either Commander or - if they'd like something a bit less casual - various Limited events. Now there'll be more competitive outlets for those who want to test their mettle against players of all kinds.
No further information has been provided on these events just yet, but rest assured, more will be revealed soon!
What has been revealed are many of the awesome guests you'll be able to meet at the venue! You'll be able to see many familiar faces such as CovertGoBlue, Jim Davis, MTGNerdGirl, PlayToWin, and ZBexx - as well as many more!
Additionally, you'll get to meet several Magic: The Gathering artists at the event. The following artists are currently announced:
- Chris Seaman - Artist known for cards like Ocelot Pride, The Meathook Massacre, and Mana Reflection.
- Jason Engle - Artist known for cards like Agatha's Soul Cauldron, Sakashima of a Thousand Faces, and the constellation variants of several Theros gods.
- Kieran Yanner - Artist known for cards like Alrund's Epiphany, Kenrith, Returned King, and Queen Marchesa.
- Nana Qi - Artist for several Secret Lair cards, including Sol Ring, Squee, Goblin Nabob, and the front sides of the alternate art cards for the From Cute To Brute deck.
This is just a taste of what will be available at the event. With it taking place in a little over a month, now is the best time to reserve your entry into CommandFest and book your hotel room so you have a place to stay for the event. The Hyatt Regency features outstanding rooms, a massive pool, and several food options nearby on International Drive. Check out CoolStuffCon on CoolStuffEvents.com now for all the details on how you can get yourself in on the fun!
