ManaNation is a strategy website that features articles from a host of writers and a video podcast for the Magic: the Gathering community. Magic: the Gathering (often just called ‘Magic’) is a game created by Richard Garfield and is owned by Wizards of the Coast (a subsidiary of Hasbro). It’s a game in what has come to be called “Collectible card games” or “CCGs” and sometimes “TCGs” which is short for “Trading Card Game.” And many may think that Magic is a copycat of Pokemon or some of the other games when in fact Magic: the Gathering is the oldest of these style of games. It has watched many come and go while it has held the only true staying power in the industry. The show’s title, ManaNation, comes from a very key piece of the game, something which every deck has – “mana.” Mana is the fuel or currency in the game of Magic. And as such, it is what unites every player of the game, it’s the one true central point around which the “nation” is formed.
