We like to feature a creator on a token with every set that is released to showcase some of the amazing creators that we sponsor. We're here today highlighting MaldHound and his Construct token! Most of us colloquially know this token as the Karnstruct token, since it gained popularity for its use with Karn, Scion of Urza back during Dominaria.
In Magic: The Gathering, tokens are used to represent temporary items or objects. Some people like using physical objects like coins or dice for objects like Treasures or Creatures. Most players, though, like using an actual card, whether it's an official token or their own artistic rendition.
We offer these custom creator tokens free with your Marvel preorder!*

MaldHound's token depicts him as the famous Doctor Doom! The set is named Marvel Super Heroes (Doom is the one true hero in the Marvel Universe; let's be real), and honestly, MaldHound as Doctor Doom is as cool as it gets.
Who is MaldHound?
MaldHound is a creator who is known for reviewing cards, sets, and decklists! On TikTok, followers love his outlandish and fantastic reviews on newer cards, especially ones that will be Commander staples.

On YouTube, he'll typically do deck reviews along with reviews of new cards and sets. He also does skits and shorts that are packed with pure chaos. His Twitch bio mentions how he promotes "healthy toxicity" which perfectly sums up how he describes Magic cards. Essentially, if you had an intrusive thought about a new card, MaldHound had the guts to say the quiet parts out loud.
For anyone who understands Victor von Doom, they know he is the king of efficiency and never holding back. He's the leader of the fictional country of Latveria and spends most of his time trying to thwart the Fantastic Four while also running his kingdom.
MaldHound is an authentic, quick-witted, and humorous voice in our community. If MaldHound is Dr. Doom, then your decklist that you sent him is Reed Richards.
You can find him here on these platforms, from live streaming on Twitch to Patreon where you can submit a decklist to him for his pure, unadulterated review.
Check Out the Token
This token is a 0/0 Artifact Construct, which gets +1/+1 for each Artifact you control, so it comes onto the battlefield as a 1/1. The Karnstruct gains its strength in heavy Artifact-based decks, since everything from your Lands and Creatures to your Equipment and other tokens are all Artifacts.
They gained their first prominent use in Dominaria with Karn, Scion of Urza, but really blew up in popularity when Urza, Lord High Artificer released in Modern Horizons and Urza's Saga released in Modern Horizons 2.
Both of those create Karnstructs and the decks that play them typically benefit from a Creature that grows with the rest of your board.

The token, like much of Marvel Super Heroes, reminds you of a comic book cover, with MaldHound at the top as the title of the series and Attack of the Construct as the issue name. "Doom Demands Your Decklists" would be a fantastic title for issue #2 of the MaldHound Doom Series.
The art for this token was commissioned and hand-painted by none other than Andre Garcia, who also did the art for Spice8Rack's token from Lorwyn Eclipsed and MTGNerdGirl's token from Avatar: the Last Airbender. Most recently, Andre also did Zbexx's 4/4 Elemental token from Secrets of Strixhaven.
Usually, when we do these tokens, our internal team does the card's frame and various details (logo, website, etc.), but we took a different approach this time. Since the token is an integrated style (with Green and Red foil!) designed after a comic book issue, Andre brought his own inspiration and did the entire thing.

Marvel Super Heroes releases worldwide on June 30th, 2026, and you can get all your preorders here on CoolStuffInc. Certain products, like Play Booster Boxes, Draft Night Boxes, Commander Decks, and even Singles ship out as early as June 19th. Doom demands that you get your preorders in as fast as possible.
Final Thoughts
We all know that Doom Reigns Supreme over all the other Super Villains in the Marvel Universe. A "Marvel Super Villains" set would be interesting one day to mirror Marvel Super Heroes; maybe MaldHound will find his way into a Doom Cosplay, to match his token.
Marvel Super Heroes is shaping up to be one of the coolest Universes Beyond releases yet and plenty of cards, including Doctor Doom himself, are going to be worth adding to all your decks.
*offer available for eligible Marvel preorders only, while supplies last. Limited one free token per customer, per order.
