Hello and happiest of days to each of you! Let's turn my next FF: MTG Commander and leader...
I love how much card drawing machine today's machine brings! This Grixis five-drop brings the arrive of a 4/5 body with an ETB and attack trigger too to make everyone discard and then you'll draw the number of card types like Battle or land discarded. To max that run two-type stuff. Then you can spend 8 generic to flip him at sorcery speed and then make each foe sac and he transforms into a flying 5/7 machine that turns all life loss on my turn only by my foes into card draw of that amount! I will build around that with Megrims and such to get them killed while drawing all of the cards.
Let's get this good ol' deck started!
Mana, Ramp, Lands
Let's start with artifact dork ramp that counts as two types when discarded. The obvious one above can ETB ramp tapped and then has a death trigger to draw, then can be sacked for three to ramp two tapped. The four-drop rare 1/4 has a tap anytime to drop a land from my hand tapped or from my graveyard too. Love that with recursion here.
Now let's turn to three ways to tap and drop a land from our hand great when building our hand up and mana base too. The two-drop flying 0/4 PuPu UFO can tap for no mana on an artifact dork body, and then the common 1/1 Walking Atlas. Horizon of Progress is a painland Reflecting Pool and then sacs for a mana to draw or with three to drop a land tapped.
Relic of Sauron taps for two in our color and then with three to draw two and discard one. Then the land Geier Reach Sanitarium taps for colorless and with two to have everyone loot one. That's an essential here.
Mistrise Village can arrive untapped often and then taps with one to stop a counter. Then the cycling land Canyon Slough has the two types, love those here so you can get them I tossed in many cyclers and all channel lands here too. I also tossed in thre three-drop Crucible of Worlds to play lands from my graveyard and then the cyclers, channelers and what we discard too. I also tossed in Academy Ruins to reload artifacts to our library's top and draw again.
Good Discard and Damage Dealing Stuff
Now let's turn to discard stuff! The lady costs three mana for a three-loyalty planeswalker and then +1s to make everyone discard - you too! Then you can -2 her to Edict someone too. Then the legendary dork costs four for a Phantom Monster with flying and size and then haste too to swing outta nowhere and then when it deals combat damage you can get a Liliana +1 trigger to get everyone to discard, or have everyone draw and lose a life or Innocent Blood. Love that here much!
Now let's turn to dorks that arrive with the ability to make everyone else discard - but not you. Virus Beetle costs two and is an artifact dork to count as two types and then the six-drop Thoughtrender Lamia is a 5/3 enchantment dork that does that for her and all enchantments you control too. The original classic Liliana's Specter is the three-drop 2/1 flyer for everyone. Chump block or swing with flying over ground stuff.
Let's finish with this duo of six-drops in Black. The common in Kefka's set has a 4/4 size and Swampcycling for mana getting and then arrives and you'll have them discard and then lose two life to trigger our leader post flip and then exiles three cards from their library too. Then the 5/4 flying Demon uncommon has a bigger 5/4 power size with evasion and then you'll have to sac a dork when you cast it but then on arrival to the battlefield you can have everyone else discard, lose life too and then you'll gain the life and draw a card too. Worth it!
Synergies and Win-Cons
Now let's turn to synergies and backup win cons - like this pair. The artifact dork costs five and can be discarded for two and then size equal to your hand count and then the trigger for when you draw each foe loses a life - so the mass card draw here will kill and trigger Kefka. Then the Izzet-colored 5/5 Dragon rough to cast but cannot be countered if you've got the mana and then has flying the same ping for card draw, but here just one target, but you can use it to kill off dorks or planeswalkers too and then get your draw on when someone...anyone...casts an instant and sorcery - love it here!
The four-drop legendary Sheoldred, the Apocalypse with deathtouch and an okay 4/5 size will turn card draw by your foes into losing 2 life each - two cards drawn with your leader and then you'll gain two life too per draw. The sorcery Rise of the Dark Realms will recur all dorks to the battlefield - great with all of the discarding - that's why there's no Bojuka Bog here.
I tossed in every Megrim printed. The two-drop one above can turn your foes' discard to draw if a nondork and land, or make 2 mana if a land or a 2/2 Zombie dork if that! Then the uncommon one-costs four and then they'll lose two life on discards and then if you got your swing on this turn, you'll force someone to discard to trigger this. Love it!
Now let's turn to these non-discard ways of forcing life loss or damage. Since we need life loss to trigger Kefka post flipping but discards into Megrim are limited in scope enter these three cards! The enchantment costs five and then your foe will lose 5 life unless they can discard when they cast anything. Note they must lose life unless they can discard. The Rakdos uncommon four-drop with 2/2 legendary has flying and deathtouch and then is a better Guttersnipe since that's 2 damage to everyone else for all non-creatures cast. Then the uncommon offspring two-drop two offspring 2/2 also has the better Guttersnipe for one damage, but great cloned.
The Darkness Crystal costs four, drops your Black stuff in cost by one, and then your opposing non-token dork death will get exiled and you'll gain a pair of life too, and then tap it with drop one for free on your side tapped with two counters. Then the Dimir three-drop Battle Invasion of Amonkhet arrives and then everyone mills three - you too, your foes discard, and then you also draw a card too.
The five-cost God Aclazotz, Deepest Betrayal has flying, and lifelink and a 4/4 size and then a swing trigger to have everyone else discard and then if they can't you'll draw - great for when you've exhausted the other hands. Then when they discard a land, make a 1/1 flying Bat and when it dies it becomes a land you can bring back for another go.
The amazing five-mana original Lorwyn 5 planeswalker Liliana Vess enters with five loyalty, +1's to make one person discard and then -2's to Vampiric Tutor your library but no life loss. Great once everyone's hands are out to get the good stuff or -8 her to Rise of the Dark Realms her instead. The Rakdos seven-drop Kefka, Dancing Mad is 6/6 and rocks indestructible on our turn only and then on our end step we exile at random a spell from our foes' graveyards. And then you can cast them for free and then they lose life equal to its cost - nasty free cards and win con and life loss to trigger our version. Great here!
Answers
Now let's turn to answers - we'll start with counters in Blue. The four-cost uncommon will counter and then they'll discard too. Then your three-mana common will counter anything and then loot to trigger your stuff. Then the three-mana common transmute Dimir one will counter anything unless they discard their hand - who would do that with a full grip, and then that Tutor can get Megrim or Liliana's Specter.
Now let's turn to bounce. I do like bounce here to refill their hand for more discards, but I am not running the broken Cyclonic Rift. The three-mana instant Dimir common Recoil can bounce any permanent even land and then they discard so if they had no hand, it heads right to the graveyard. Then the four-mana Aetherize bounces all attackers to save you from eating tons of that sweet damage! Then discard can have a full hand.
The five-drop rare 5/4 flying will cycle two and then turn your discards into a -1/-1 counter on all opposing dorks! Nasty good here! Then the five-cost sorcery will swap all in play dorks with all in graveyards, that's amazing here when you play around it and you can go from losing to winning in one spell! It's nasty against tokens too.
Card Draw
Now let's turn to card draw! The first is the four-drop artifact that turns discards of our foes into cards drawn. Then the two-drop legendary Black one with a 1/2 size will in each end step draw if a foe discarded and lose a life too - that's their own looting, rummaging, cycling and more! Then you can spend six to drop everyone else with no hand to 10 life.
The three-drop artifact Monument to Endurance will turn any of your discards to draw, ramp with a Treasure or making each foe lose three life - but just once each per turn. That's nasty here! Then the two-drop 1/3 Tinybones, Bauble Burglar has a trigger when a foe discards to exile it with a counter and then you can play them on our turn and we can use any of our mana on it, then we can tap it at sorcery speed with four to force everyone else to discard too. Then Syphon Mind will force everyone else to discard and then draw equal to them!
I adore Wheels as my final section of card draw where you and everyone else dumps their hand getting mass triggers of Megrims and then refills and then gets more stuff for more discards and more triggers. The cheapest here is the above three-mana sorcery in Blue that makes everyone discard and then draw what was the biggest amount discarded. The four-mana one will have everyone discard and then draw five, but note this is "may" - most will want too, though. Then they eat 5 damage and then flash is back too. Great for discards early. Then the similarly costs one will get everyone to discard and draw five too, and it's also a "may", and then if you control your dork you can also give your spells flashback in your graveyard for mass recursion instead or both. It's nasty in all of the good ways here.
