Boros Aggro with Lightning Unleashed in Commander

Hello happy folks and happiest of days to each of you! My final Commander brew around a legendary dork from the FF set is likely today! This is Lightning, Army of One:

Lightning, Army of One

Here! This fun three-drop 3/2 size dork with first strike and trample and then lifelink too will trade combat damage to your foes to doubling all damage to them until your next turn! From the second main phase through all foes' turns as well, that's pretty strong and good stuff for the winning. We'll need to ensure we hit, which trample is already good at. Then insert damage and turn! Please note that our combat damage in the...first...combat damage phase cannot be doubled...

Here we go with my brew!

Mana, Ramp and Lands

Let's start with the easier stuff, this section early on are obvious Arcane Signets and Sol Rings. This three-drop Red tapping mana rock ETBs untapped and then becomes a copy of something on arrival to the battlefield with haste for the turn - any creature - not just yours works. The White tapping land ETBs tapped, and then with four to sac and then grab any Equipment or Aura from your brew to hand. I also tossed in Inventors' Fair that grabs any artifact, not Equipment, but needs more artifacts to work. I also added in the three-drop Manalith with the ability to tap with one to tap an artifact, with two to surveil and then with three to goad to force your foes to attack each other.

The next place I looked to was for dorks that arrive and then ramp a Plains to battlefield. Ideally on-curve and any Plains, but those have the limitations of just working like Land Tax. Knight of the White Orchid and Claim Jumper both fit - the White Knight size and cost one also has first strike and then any Plains is grabbed here, then the three-drop 3/3 one with vigilance will do the same for repeating the process once more and can get you two, not just one. I also tossed in ramp dorks like Kor Cartographer and Solemn Simulacrum.

I wanted to add in some reliable land-based repeatable card-draw enter this trio. Minas Tirith can ETB untapped sometimes, and then taps with two to draw if you attacked with two or more dorks - easily done here. War Room can be tapped with three to swap two life for a card - worth it! Then Fountainport will tap with two to sac a token, and then draw, or tap with three and a life to make a 1/1 dork and four to make a Treasure for ramping, and then I also tossed in ways to make more dorks in my colors, like Castle Ardenvale and Mirrex.

Synergies and Winning Conditions

Now let's turn to synergies and win-cons! We need to get in that hit with our Commander, enter this Equipment duo that cost two and then Equip for three. The former will give our dork ward 2 and then it cannot be blocked - great! Then the latter has flash, and auto-equips on arrival and then will give it shroud for the turn and then it cannot be blocked too!

We need multiple attacks to best harness the combat doubling damage of Lightning. I tossed in many! The legendary lady Aurelia, the Warleader is a 3/4 with flying and haste and then vigilance like our favorite stuff! Then when she attacks first, you get a free Relentless Assault! Then Moraug, Fury of Akoum can pump our team's power and then has landfall into a Relentless Assault - great! I also tossed in everything from Righteous Fury to Karlach.

Here is a backup combo win-con in the deck. You can activate the Assault for five mana over and over again! Then you can drop the three-drop Equipment equip for two, and then double pump it and give it pro Black and Green. Then when you smash face? Just untap your land and they get a discard too. They'll hate that massively if you can spend mana to get infinite attacks!

Now let's turn to great ways to help out. Bastion Protector gives our leader indestructible and a +2/+2 size too to protect them. Then Buster Sword also costs three for a two equip and then will grow it +3/+2 this time and then has a combat damage trigger just like our leader and then you'll draw and then get a free cast with your combat damage! Then Genji Glove costs five, equips for three, and then gives it double strike for TWO triggers and then an attack to give it a free Relentless Assault this turn. Nasty!

The eight-drop mono-Red enchantment with convoke will triple all of our damage here! I also tossed in the first one, great for stuff - and then the Boros colored seven-drop 5/5 flyer with first strike damage doubler on legs too. But just to your foes, not your stuff, and then when they swing at each other too. Then their damage to you is halved. Then the two-drop lady arrives and tutors an Equipment to your hand and then you can tap her with 2 to drop one. Great here!

The Boros God four-drop Iroas, God of Victory with indestructible and then your stuff has menace and takes no damage when attacking to help swing. Then Neheb, the Eternal costs five for an okay sized 4/6 and then has afflict 3 too. Then when your foes ate life loss you can make that in mana. Nasty! Then the three-drop legendary lady Adeline, Resplendent Cathar has power equal to your dork count, with vigilance too so you can swing and hold her back and then when you swing with anything you can make one free 1/1 tapped dork attacking each foe! She's broken.

Now let's turn to answers! I need to protect my stuff and then I am not in Blue for counters or Green for Heroic Intervention, but this pair should do ably enough. The instant uncommon on one mana can make one of my things - even lands, hexproof and indestructible to save them, for two mana I can gain a trio of life and five mana will save them all and then gain six. Then the two-cost instant will shoot a foe for four, nice with the damage increasers here, or to give my dork double strike, also nice here for two triggers or just to kill outta nowhere - but it's here to keep all of my stuff save with indestructible.

Now let's turn to targeted removal! Angel of the Ruins costs seven for a smaller 5/7 flyer artifact dork with Plainscycling too for mana smoothing, and she's here for that ETB to exile two opposing artifacts or enchantments! Great with exiling since nothing is coming back or saving it. Then the three-drop 2/1 Loran of the Third Path also destroys those types on arrival, but just one. Then tap her to draw and a foe too. I did toss in some burn here like Boros Charm and the classic Lightning Bolt and then Lightning Helix too. I also tossed in things from Generous Gift to Witch Enchanter.

Sure, my deck may wanna go big with the permanents, but we need some emergency mass removal spells - enter this duo! Austere Command will sweep two of cheap or pricey dorks, or enchantments or artifacts - we only have a few of the enchantments here. Winds of Abandon can Path to Exile one foe's stuff or all of their stuff with six mana needed - great to fill their board with lands for our Knight of the White Orchid and then then next section too!

Now let's finish with card draw! Let's start with this Equipment card drawing duo like an Enchantress and then the first can give you free Equip if you have metalcraft. Both of these are on-curve Bear size too.

Now let's turn to two taxing style cards and then the combo I alluded to above. The one-drop on-curve 1/1 artifact dork will turn the first thing your foe casts into a card on their turn if it's a non-creature and then pay its power in mana. Then the two-drop-flashing Hate Bear will turn your foe's searches into your card and a life too. Then the Rack will swap cards in your hand with cards from your library's top with a tap and a mana, and you can sort. Its' here to combo with Land Tax to get three basics each turn and then tap and draw three more and then keep searching and shuffling.

Now let's turn to this classic multiplayer powerhouse. The Equipment costs three, equips for two, and then gives it pro red and Blue and then it smashes you can draw and Shock and since the Shock happens later if targeting that person you should get it increased. Then the five-drop will turn opposing card draw into ours if you spend a mana each time! Get it and run it and love it! I also tossed in the also classic Skullclamp a total card-draw renaissance for aggro and tokens.
