Over 1,500 players convened in Paris to take their last swing at Standard with Khans of Tarkir and Fate Reforged. With Shadows over Innistrad descending rapidly, the time has come to say farewell to Siege Rhino, Mantis Rider, Dig Through Time, Rally the Ancestors, and the Fetch Lands.

And not just any goodbye would do. The Top 8 of Grand Prix Paris included Hall of Famer Ben Stark, Grand Prix stalwart Martin J?za, Pro Tour Top 8 competitor Ryoichi Tamada, and Giuseppe Reale appearing in his second straight Grand Prix Top 8. J?za took the Tarkir standard Abzan to the semi-finals before falling to Stark and Dark Jeskai. On the other side of the bracket we had an Alara flavored showdown with Ryoichi Tamada's Bant Company falling to Petr Soch?rek's Grixis Control.

Ben Stark's Pro Tour victory came in Paris and he looked to claim another title. However his Dark Jeskai deck was no match for Gold level pro Soch?rek and his Grixis deck. In the end, Soch?rek raised the trophy in the City of Lights.
