Albertus Law Wins Grand Prix Guangzhou

The Grand Prix circuit made its first trip ever to Guangzhou and just under 950 players showed up to do battle in Modern. Modern remains a diverse format and the Top 8 reflected the abundance of decks with 7 different archetypes appearing in the single elimination rounds.

There was also a diversity of experience. Kentaro Yamamoto and Ryoichi Tamada have had their pro level success recently, while Kelvin Chew saw the Sunday of a Pro Tour in 2012. Albertus Law has them all beat, making his Top 8 at Pro Tour Barcelona 2001 and winning a Grand Prix the same year. In Guangzhou it was the veteran who won the day as Law's Grixis Delver overtook Wu Kon Fai's Naya Burn.
