Hi folks! Welcome to the Weekly Sale Column! This column will be aimed at showing you some cards on sale that could give you some new ideas for your lists. They will *usually* be Commander lists in Bracket 3 as well so you'll be able to play these in any Bracket 3 (or higher) pods. If you want to play in lower pods, just swap out the Game Changers for other choices and/or add more along with some other competitive combos if you want to compete with Bracket 4 and 5 pods! Remember that the weekly sale ends on Sunday night at 11:59 PM EST, so you have until then to get your cards ordered!
Today, we bring you a multicolored, multi-faceted, multi-universed deck from the Solid Gold sale! This sale is chock full of multicolored cards (as in gold) and we aim to take advantage of that! Leading (or rather, uniting) our charge is Aragorn, the Uniter! Aragorn is a 4-mana 5/5 that costs ![]()

, so quite color-intensive, but very worth it!. He also comes with four triggered abilities that happen when you cast a colored spell. White makes a 1/1, Blue Scries 2, Red Lava Spikes, and Green Titanic Growths! While that might seem low powered, when you cast a multicolored spell, you get each one of those spell's colors! So a Simic-colored spell will Titanic Growth and Scry 2, a Naya-colored spell will Lava Spike, make a token, and Titanic Growth, and so on and so forth. We like multicolored spells and this sale provides! Lets get into it:
Multicolored Value!
To start, we have cards that benefit from when we cast multicolored spells, besides Aragorn. General Ferrous Rokiric makes a 4/4 every time we cast a multicolored spell. Hero of Precinct One makes a 1/1, but is easier to get in play! Fallaji Wayfarer not only triggers all of Aragorn's abilities, but it also gives our other gold cards Convoke! Lilah, Undefeated Slickshot will plot multicolored instants and sorceries, basically letting us recast them and get double Aragorn value on them! Annie Joins Up doesn't necessarily give us value for just the multicolored cards, but it doubles literally everything that Aragorn (and every other legendary creature we control) does.
I play with a local buddy of mine who pilots Aragorn extremely well, and he THRASHES me on a regular basis. He gave me some solid suggestions here I wouldn't have ever thought of like Matoya, Archon Elder and Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar, both of which will draw us so many cards here. He also gave us Pippin, Guard of the Citadel, which is the Mother of Runes that we've always wanted to play, because of the multicolored aspect and that it can make Aragorn unblockable!
Combat Math?
Wait, combat. You mean we attack?
Yes! If you've played with me, then you know I'm not afraid to attack, and I want everyone to attack more! Aragorn encourages you to attack your opponents so you don't miss out on the Titanic Growths that your Green spells are providing. Just one trigger targeting Aragorn turns him into a 3-turn clock for Commander damage if you just cast one Green spell each turn. If you hit once with one trigger for 9, and then on a later turn for 13 with a two-Green-spell turn, that's 22, so someone is dead! Our combat-related choices will help us turn the tide of a game very fast, so pay attention if you're against someone running Aragorn!
Anzrag, the Quake-Mole gives you extra combat phases, and does some neat things with Inga and Esika! Tifa, Martial Artist, the queen of combat, also gives an extra combat phase, but only one, so make it count! Bria, Riptide Rogue makes it so that your noncreature spells give you extra buffs through Prowess with a nice Unblockable bonus. Lightning, Army of One helps you deal some double damage, though not just in combat, but also through Aragorn's Lava Spikes!
While we're chatting about combat, let's talk combat tricks! Cards with the word "charm" in the name that correspond to Magic's multicolored groups just tickle our fancy. Boros Charm can make our creatures indestructible or give something double strike, Brokers Charm can fight creatures or draw cards, Temur Charm can Mana Leak or make some creatures unblockable, and even Naya Charm can clear the way to your opponents' life totals! These all have so many modes, and they will all be relevant! From Spider-Man, Rhino's Rampage will Titanic Growth, Lava Spike, Pump again, Fight, and then eat your opponent's Sol Ring for one mana, and that's just insane to me. Hybrid cards are your best friend, if you've got some you want to play! Finally, Legolas's Quick Reflexes is probably the best combat trick ever printed, and will also function as removal on your turn or protection otherwise (maybe both if you do neat things with Inga and Esika).
Change the Game!
We're back to having Game Changers in our deck after last week's Bracket 2 list! To start, we're going to stay on theme with The One Ring! It may not have pips or colors, but this little artifact will draw you more cards than you'll know what to do with! Next up, we've got Grand Arbiter Augustin IV. He has this neat little trick of turning the whole table on you, but he'll also discount the majority of our deck, and any cards that are both Blue and White will get double discounted. Finally, to go with our combat tricks theme, we've got Deflecting Swat! As long as you've got Aragorn in play, this free redirect will be so useful to use to protect our cards from our opponents' disruption, so it's a surefire choice here.
If you want to drop this deck down a bracket, The One Ring can become Tome of the Guildpact, Grand Arbiter Augustin IV can be any good ![]()
card you like (I'm partial to Mirrorweave), and Deflecting Swat can be Wild Ricochet! If you wanna go up to bracket 4 or 5, add in some fast mana from cards like Mox Amber and Lotus Petal and I'd suggest a few more game changers, like Aura Shards, Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy, Seedborn Muse, and Winota, Joiner of Forces!
Here's the list, enjoy the gold rush!
