Hello everyone. I've reached the midway point of my series of articles where I bring you Standard decks that are all featuring a single color. The past two weeks have seen Red and Green decks, so we'll circle 'round to the start of the color wheel this week and take a look at some decks that all feature White mana. Let's get started.
Mono-White Cats
We'll start things off this week by taking a look at a deck that features one of my favorite creature types, Cats.
Mono-White Cats | FIN Standard | JayVillain, aetherhub.com user
- Creatures (24)
- 2 Basri, Tomorrow's Champion
- 2 Cat Collector
- 2 Regal Caracal
- 2 Rosa, Resolute White Mage
- 4 Ajani's Pridemate
- 4 Arahbo, the First Fang
- 4 Leonin Vanguard
- 4 Skyknight Squire
- Instants (2)
- 2 Get Lost
- Enchantments (9)
- 2 Authority of the Consuls
- 3 Case of the Uneaten Feast
- 4 Sheltered by Ghosts
- Artifacts (2)
- 2 Excalibur II
- Lands (24)
- 24 Plains
Skyknight Squire is a great creature to play early. Doing so will allow you to amass a substantial amount of +1/+1 counters on it simply by doing what you naturally want to do, play more creatures. Once you reach 3 +1/+1 counters, Skyknight Squire gains flying, making it more difficult for your opponent to block. That's when you'll want to equip Excalibur II, if possible.
Excalibur II will be able to gain a fair number of counters due to the high amount of ways to gain life in this deck. You can push through a lot of damage if Skyknight Squire is equipped with Excalibur II, especially if your opponent can't block your flying creatures. Add to that damage by targeting Skyknight Squire with Rosa, Resolute White Mage's ability for even more life gained and damage.
Azorius Auras
Next, we'll take a look at an Azorius deck that wants to build up a creature with multiple auras. Let's take a look at the deck.
Azorius Auras | FIN Standard | HelloGoodGame, aetherhub.com user
- Creatures (16)
- 2 Fear of Impostors
- 2 Sleep-Cursed Faerie
- 4 Armored Armadillo
- 4 Optimistic Scavenger
- 4 Saiba Cryptomancer
- Enchantments (25)
- 2 Curious Inquiry
- 3 Rest in Peace
- 4 Combat Research
- 4 Ethereal Armor
- 4 Feather of Flight
- 4 Shardmage's Rescue
- 4 Sheltered by Ghosts
- Battles (3)
- 3 Invasion of Theros // Ephara, Ever-Sheltering
- Lands (16)
- 3 Island
- 5 Plains
- 4 Seachrome Coast
- 4 Starting Town
Saiba Cryptomancer is a relatively unassuming creature from March of the Machine. It has flash, allowing you to play it on your opponent's turn which allows you to avoid mass removal spells. It also has hexproof, making it unable to be targeted by removal spells your opponent might cast. In short, it's the perfect creature to build up into a massive threat.
To build it up, you'll want to enchant it with multiple auras. Every aura in this deck (with one exception) will provide some boost to the enchanted creature's power, toughness, or both. The exception I mentioned earlier is Combat Research, which only boosts a legendary creature. You'll still want to play it, because it can amount to you drawing an extra card each turn. Plus, each enchantment you have in play will augment the bonus provided by Ethereal Armor.
Orzhov Lifegain
The next deck I have for you offers you a lot of ways to pay off gaining extra life. Let's take a look at the deck.

- Creatures (22)
- 2 Zack Fair
- 3 Aerith Gainsborough
- 3 Amalia Benavides Aguirre
- 3 Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim
- 3 Zoraline, Cosmos Caller
- 4 Essence Channeler
- 4 Hinterland Sanctifier
- Instants (5)
- 2 Restoration Magic
- 3 Get Lost
- Enchantments (11)
- 1 Authority of the Consuls
- 3 Case of the Uneaten Feast
- 3 Sheltered by Ghosts
- 4 Lunar Convocation
- Lands (22)
- 4 Swamp
- 8 Plains
- 1 Restless Fortress
- 2 Plaza of Heroes
- 3 Concealed Courtyard
- 4 Caves of Koilos
Aerith Gainsborough is a great creature for this deck to get into play. She has lifelink, plus she'll gain a +1/+1 counter whenever you gain life. If she should happen to die, you'll be able to put the same amount of +1/+1 counters Aerith Gainsborough had onto each of your other legendary creatures. That can definitely take the sting out of losing such a good creature.
Sometimes, you might not want Aerith Gainsborough to die. For those times, you might hope to have Zack Fair on the battlefield. Zack has an ability where you can sacrifice him (plus pay 1 mana) to make any creature you control indestructible for the turn. That creature will also get any counters Zach has, plus any equipment that was attached to him. This can be a great way to protect yourself in the event that your opponent is playing any board sweepers.
Boros Mice
Next, I have a Boros typal deck for you that shows that even small creatures can be quite threatening. Let's check it out.

- Creatures (22)
- 2 Kellan, the Fae-Blooded
- 2 Mabel, Heir to Cragflame
- 2 Zack Fair
- 4 Cheeky House-Mouse
- 4 Emberheart Challenger
- 4 Flowerfoot Swordmaster
- 4 Manifold Mouse
- Instants (6)
- 2 Opera Love Song
- 4 Might of the Meek
- Enchantments (4)
- 4 Sheltered by Ghosts
- Artifacts (6)
- 1 Buster Sword
- 1 Lost Jitte
- 4 Coral Sword
- Lands (22)
- 2 Plains
- 6 Mountain
- 1 Lupinflower Village
- 1 Rockface Village
- 4 Inspiring Vantage
- 4 Starting Town
- 4 Sunbillow Verge
Manifold Mouse has been a lynchpin for many Red decks since it came out in Bloomburrow. By giving a Mouse you control either double strike or trample for the turn, you're able to get through most would-be blockers. Since Manifold Mouse has an offspring ability, you can create a copy of it when it is cast to be able to give both abilities to a single creature if you'd like.
Buster Sword is a new piece of equipment that provides quite a boost to the creature equipping it. That creature gains +3/+2, plus you get to draw a card and cast a spell for free whenever the equipped creature deals combat damage to your opponent. Any time you can get something for free, there's the potential for something busted to happen, which makes this a cool new artifact to try out in any deck that wants to attack whenever possible.
Selesnya Rabbits
For the final deck this week, we go from one typal deck to another. This one features Rabbits. Let's take a look at the deck.
Selesnya Rabbits | FIN Standard | DrRuckus, aetherhub.com user
- Creatures (28)
- 1 Sanguine Evangelist
- 2 Finneas, Ace Archer
- 2 Knight-Errant of Eos
- 3 Warren Warleader
- 4 Burrowguard Mentor
- 4 Pawpatch Recruit
- 4 Seasoned Warrenguard
- 4 Valley Mightcaller
- 4 Valley Questcaller
- Sorceries (4)
- 4 Hop to It
- Enchantments (4)
- 4 Sheltered by Ghosts
- Lands (24)
- 7 Plains
- 1 Lupinflower Village
- 2 Cavern of Souls
- 2 Hushwood Verge
- 4 Brushland
- 4 Oakhollow Village
- 4 Razorverge Thicket
- Sideboard (3)
- 1 Keen-Eyed Curator
- 1 Knight-Errant of Eos
- 1 Season of the Burrow
While this deck might feature a lot of great Rabbit creatures, I first want to talk about a Frog. Based on its creature type alone, Valley Mightcaller might not seem like it fits well in this deck, however thanks to its ability to gain a +1/+1 counter whenever another Frog, Rabbit, Raccoon, or Squirrel enters play under your control, it fits in just nicely. If you can keep it from being destroyed, Valley Mightcaller will likely be one of your largest creatures in play at the end of the game.
Since this is a Rabbit themed deck, let's talk about a pair of very useful Rabbits. First is Warren Warleader, who is able to either create an attacking 1/1 Rabbit creature token when you attack, or give all of your attacking creatures a +1/+1 boost for the turn. There's also Finneas, Ace Archer, who will place a +1/+1 counter on each other Rabbit or creature token you control whenever Finneas attacks. Create a bunch of Rabbit tokens and power them all up simply by attacking.
Wrapping Up
As you can see, the White decks I've brought you this deck generally excel at gaining additional life, playing a bunch of beneficial auras, and creating creature tokens and +1/+1 counters. As a fan of all of these things, I'm excited to give each of these decks a try.
What do you think of these decks? Feel free to share this article with your friends anywhere on social media. And be sure to join me here again next week as I continue my search for innovative decks in Standard. I'll see you then!
