Hello everyone. As the brewing of new decks continues, I'm back again with another selection of new decks you can play at home against your friends or at a tournament at your friendly local game store.
Mardu Munitions Sacrifice
We'll start things off with a deck that creates an army of creatures from the scraps of artifacts. Let's take a look at the deck.
Mardu Munitions Sacrifice | EOE Standard | SwayzeMTG, aetherhub.com
- Creatures (2)
- 2 Rottenmouth Viper
- Sorceries (4)
- 4 United Battlefront
- Enchantments (7)
- 3 Caretaker's Talent
- 4 Weapons Manufacturing
- Artifacts (23)
- 3 Tarrian's Journal
- 4 Dusk Rose Reliquary
- 4 Legion Extruder
- 4 Mephitic Draught
- 4 Spring-Loaded Sawblades
- 4 Tithing Blade
- Lands (24)
- 2 Mountain
- 2 Plains
- 2 Swamp
- 1 Bleachbone Verge
- 1 Sunbillow Verge
- 2 Fountainport
- 2 Starting Town
- 4 Blazemire Verge
- 4 Godless Shrine
- 4 Sacred Foundry
Legion Extruder has seen a jump in play recently, and for good reason. When it comes into play, it can act as creature removal or direct damage to your opponent. It also has an activated ability that allows you to sacrifice another artifact to create a 3/3 Golem artifact creature token. Those tokens will be great for defense, since this deck doesn't run many creatures.
When you sacrifice an artifact for Legion Extruder, you'll typically want to sacrifice one of the Munitions artifact tokens created by Weapons Manufacturing. These Munitions will deal 2 damage to any target whenever they leave the battlefield. This extra damage you can deal should be enough to put you over the top and allow you to defeat your opponent.
Kona Station Combo
The next deck I have for you wants to go infinite with the help of Omniscience. Let's check out the deck.
Kona Station Combo | EOE Standard | LegenVD, aetherhub.com
- Creatures (13)
- 1 Roxanne, Starfall Savant
- 1 Yuna, Hope of Spira
- 3 Jill, Shiva's Dominant
- 4 Kona, Rescue Beastie
- 4 Marang River Regent
- Instants (4)
- 4 Cache Grab
- Enchantments (11)
- 3 Seam Rip
- 4 Omniscience
- 4 Roiling Dragonstorm
- Artifacts (7)
- 3 Pinnacle Starcage
- 4 The Seriema
The goal of this deck is to get Omniscience into play to set up the combo that I will describe later. Since Omniscience has a mana value of 10, you'll want to cheat it into play. This can be accomplished with Kona, Rescue Beastie. In order to make sure Kona will be tapped at the beginning of your second main phase, you should consider tapping it to help station Adagia, Windswept Bastion.
Once Omniscience is in play, it's time to set up the killing infinite combo. You'll need Roxanne, Starfall Savant for this along with something that can return her to your hand, such as Marang River Regent. You can also play Jill, Shiva's Dominant to help with this. By playing Roxanne, Starfall Savant over and over, you'll be creating Meteorite tokens that deal 2 damage to any target when they enter play. Deal that damage directly to your opponent and the game is yours.
Grixis Slivers
Next, I have a deck for you featuring one of Magic's favorite creature types, Slivers. Let's check it out.
Grixis Slivers | EOE Standard | MTGArenaOriginalDecks, aetherhub.com
- Planeswalkers (4)
- 4 Ugin, Eye of the Storms
- Instants (5)
- 2 Bitter Triumph
- 3 Negate
- Sorceries (9)
- 2 Pyroclasm
- 3 Deadly Cover-Up
- 4 Ill-Timed Explosion
- Enchantments (3)
- 3 Nowhere to Run
- Artifacts (16)
- 2 Patchwork Banner
- 3 Hedron Archive
- 3 Thrumming Hivepool
- 4 Candy Trail
- 4 Mazemind Tome
- Lands (24)
- 2 Island
- 2 Mountain
- 4 Swamp
- 1 Demolition Field
- 3 Watery Grave
- 4 Blazemire Verge
- 4 Gloomlake Verge
- 4 Riverpyre Verge
Having zero Sliver creatures in Standard doesn't stop this deck from creating a bunch of 1/1 Sliver creature tokens and using them to score a victory. Thrumming Hivepool is the card that makes this happen. Each turn, you'll create two 1/1 Sliver creature tokens that will have double strike and haste. By boosting their stats with the help of Patchwork Banner, you'll quickly be able to peck away at your opponent's life total, taking big chunks of it with each attack.
To be able to cast more easily, you'll want to rely on the extra mana that Hedron Archive offers. Adding two colorless mana is a huge benefit, plus you can have multiple copies of Hedron Archive in play since it's not legendary. They will also help you cast Ugin, Eye of the Storms earlier than usual. Ugin has great loyalty abilities that will provide you with extra life, cards, and mana, plus he has a static ability that can act as removal.
Wrapping Up
All of the decks I've shown you today feature mana bases that are at least three colors. When making multicolored decks is so easy, decks can become pretty powerful. Each of these decks is proof of this, as they can all do some busted things.
What do you think of these decks? Feel free to share this article with your friends anywhere on social media. And be sure to join me here again next week as I continue my search for innovative decks in Standard. I'll see you then!
