This Tuesday, Wizards of the Coast revealed that CommandFests were officially coming back! Only two events were revealed thus far, with the only United States event initially revealed being held by the one and only CoolStuffInc! Not only is CoolStuffInc back as an event organizer for CommandFest, but they've rebranded and expanded to have the event now be CoolStuffCon. This allows the events to no longer focus solely on Commander play but also allows them to host tournaments for the more competitively minded players, with RCQs and a cEDH $5k tournament announced thus far. Four additional events were later announced on Thursday, with the only other US event being held in Worcester, MA in July.

Aetherdrift Alchemy released on MTG Arena

As has become a tradition, a few weeks have passed since the release of Aetherdrift which means it's time for a set of all new digital exclusive Alchemy cards to hit MTG Arena! The latest Alchemy set hit the client this week with 30 new cards for players to make use of. Some players were a little critical of the higher than normal number of cards that could be printed in paper, noting how this seems to go somewhat against the digital only design space Alchemy sets are meant to represent. Nevertheless, this new release should provide a bit of spice to those fans of Alchemy, Historic, and Timeless.

Check out the full image gallery for the set here, and also find the Spellbook lists here.

Decklist of the Week

This week's decklist is...me! I played in the 72 player Inaugural Upstate NY Pauper Open this past weekend and won the whole thing with Jund Broodscale Combo. This deck wins by utilzing the A+B combo of Basking Broodscale and Sadistic Glee to create infinitely large creatures, infinite mana, and even infinite damage with Makeshift Munitions and Nadier's Nightblade. It was great getting to represent Pauper as a member of the Pauper Format Panel and interact with players from throughout New York State (and even a bit beyond). This event continues a growing trend of larger paper Pauper events happening in the region, with similar sized events happening in Binghamton, Philadelphia, and NYC - among others. I'm already looking forward to the next one!
