Edge of Eternities Previews Kick Off

This Tuesday saw Wizards kick off preview season for Edge of Eternities in spectacular fashion. The space opera-themed release brings a whole host of wondrous new designs and artwork, as well as some reskins of long-time favorites.
Last year, we finally made enemy Odyssey filterlands. That went well - and other land cycles still need finishing up...
So starting with #MTGEternities we're gradually rolling out enemy cycling+tango lands in precons! (Just shown on

Following the reveals of the Commander decks came one particularly cool bit of news as well. After years of players clamoring for Wizards to finish the dual land cycles from Battle for Zendikar and Amonkhet, the enemy duals from this cycle have begun to roll out here. We'll see these more throughout future sets likely over the course of the next year.
Prerelease is just a few weeks away so make sure you check with your local game store to get all the details on how you can get in on this new epic set. Additionally, if your local shop doesn't have what you need, CoolStuffInc has you covered. Check out the Edge of Eternities page right here on this site for all your space Magic needs!
A New Slew Of Promos Revealed
In addition to the reveal of many new Edge of Eternities cards came the unveiling of several upcoming promos for the season. While some - such as the RCQ promos - we'd seen before, many others are all-new. Retro frame Palladium Myr and Trinket Mage make up casual-oriented events while Store Championship events boast powerful staples such as Slickshot Show-Off and Fable of the Mirror-Breaker // Reflection of Kiki-Jiki.
The real talking point of these, though, was the inclusion of Monstrous Rage as the Standard Showdown promo for the coming months. Despite featuring a cool new retro frame, the fresh banning from the format makes it an awkward inclusion. Despite not being quite so useful for Standard, however, the card remains excellent for formats like Pioneer, Cube, and even the occasional Modern list.
You can find out all the details on these promos and more right here.
ChannelFireball Rebrands With TCGplayer
After a long and lengthy process, ChannelFireball has announced that they are merging with TCGplayer. This announcement comes several years after the reveal that CFB had been bought by the popular TCG marketplace. Now, all of ChannelFireball's works going forward will bear the TCGplayer marker instead of the classic ChannelFireball logo, going so far as to change their YouTube channel completely in the process.

This past weekend saw the latest instance of Paupergeddon, the world's largest tournament for the Pauper format! The mega-popular Italian event drew 1106 players for the main event, with even more showing up for the side events and sheer spectacle. In the end, following an incredibly diverse top 8, the underdog of Cawgates - of which only five copies were registered throughout the tournament - took home the trophy. Congratulations Pietro on the outstanding victory!
