Hello all and happiest of days to each of you! This is my first Top Cards for the latest set Lorwyn Eclipsed. We are returning to everyone's favorite kindred theme set that added so much like kindred spells, changelings, planeswalkers, evoke, classics like Mulldrifter, persist and wither, and thus a -1/-1 theme, and chroma too, which was devotion. This was based in UK Mythology and such. It gave us a Scarecrow theme too! Now we are back, and that's great news for all!
Here is my first round of these cards for y'all! Remember, my list is for casual formats like
multiplayer, Commander, Five Color, multiplayer, Type Four, Peasant/Pauper, Highlander and absolutely multiplayer too always!
Honorable Mention #2 (#22. Overall) - Harmonized Crescendo
Let's get started with this six-cost instant speed Blue rare spell with convoke! You choose a creature type. You can draw that type's number - instant refill of our hand. With convoke you can tap stuff to make it happen cheaper and then instant speed EOT without opening your defenses and then cast with an open mana and board too. It's great to skate in all of the places!
Honorable Mention #2. (#21. Overall) - Ajani, Outland Chaperone
This great three-drop three loyalty planeswalker is next. Those tend to be high on value. Ajani can +1 to make a two-color Kithkin 1/1 dork to block attacks. Then that -2 Lightning Blasts a tapped dork for removal. Love that token making and dork removal together in one tight, three mana package and on a powerful ongoing threat too.
#20. Mirrorform
This powerful six-mana Blue instant is next. All of our nonland stuff become a copy of a non-Aura. Note a few things here - first, that ain't temporary. Also, it works for tokens of ours and we can copy something our foe is running too! Only legendary breaks it! But with Mirror Gallery? No longer!
#19. Dawnhand Dissident
Next up is this ideal one-drop 1/2 Elf in Black with a few taps that don't use mana. The first surveils 1 with blight 1. Then the second blight two to exile a card from any graveyard. Then we can on our turns cast what we exiled by removing three counters plus their cost too. That's just great and note we don't have to exile our graveyard there too. Nasty great, I know!
#18. Collective Inferno
Next up is this five-drop enchantment in Red in a hard-to answer form with enchantments, and then with convoke too to really break it. You choose a creature type on arrival and then double all of its damage! That's not double strike, or double power, but all damage everywhere! I'm sure you can think of some tricks there. From Tims to Tarfall to attacks, enjoy this game-winner!
#17. Oko, Lorwyn Liege // Oko, Shadowmoor Scion
Next up is this flip mono-Blue planeswalker Oko three-drop that flips to Green in our early main phase for one Green and then the back side with a Blue mana. It arrives with 3 loyalty and then the front side can +2 to make one dork changeling or +2 to pump a dork's front by two. Then the Green back half is all minuses with -1 to Mill three and Regrowth one to our hand if a permanent or -3 to make two 3/3 Elks. Not that bad or shabby, right? Right!
#16. Great Forest Druid
I adore me a two-drop good size taps for any color mana dork, or sometimes just Green mana works too. They tend to be good from limited to Standard to casual too. This guy is great with an 0/4 body and defender, so it can block for days! It's like Sylvan Caryatid save it's got a bigger butt but can be targeted. But who would? It's a mana dork. Embrace this for blocking, keeping folks away in multiplayer, and defense matters and defender matters stuff too!
#15. Maralen, Fae Ascendant
Next is this fun five-drop three color evasive 4/5 flyer in Sultai with the ability when either Elves or Faeries arrive, we can exile two cards from one foe's library top. Then we can cast them once per turn for free as long as its less than those tribal numbers. We all know how bonkers free plays are in Commander, and that's free each turn, not just ours! But it's our foes we are casting, so it's less powerful and requires bodies on the field to disrupt and then costs five too. But in Green and Black, the colors of ramp, that's nothing. She's so easy to break she had to be here.
#14. Moon-Vigil Adherents
Next up are this great four-drop uncommon trampling win-con. Do you like Lhurgoyf? It's that with trample so it gets through! Then do you like Keldon Warlord? It's that with trample, and both for the same price mana wise too! From graveyard brews to aggro to tokens to midrange - what Green deck can't use this in any stage of the game for a win??
#13. Brigid, Clachan's Heart // Brigid, Doun's Mind
Next up are this flip card from mono-White to Green for one mana each early main phase. She costs three mana for a 3/2 body that arrives with a 1/1 Green and White Kithkin! Then on her back side she taps for Selesnya mana equal to our dork count! Why would you swap her back I'm not sure, since folks would target her for removal not your dorks that pump her size, or all with sweepers. But that's tons of value on a naked board!
#12. Selfless Safewright
You know how much I adore cannot touch me effects in casual and multiplayer that save my stuff from mass, targeted and other stuff like Heroic Intervention and more. I adore this stuff everywhere in most brews that need permanents to do stuff, enter this five-drop flashing convoking 4/2 dork that arrives and gives hexproof and indestructible to all of a chosen dork type this turn. Love it!
#11. The 5 Elemental, Hybrid, Evoking Incarnations
Next up are these great cycles of Dreads and Mulldrifters combined. They arrive with two abilities, one each for two mana in that color like Hedge-Mages. Then they have evoke both colors hybrid and you choose which one we'll cast and then bring them back too. In alpha order, Catharsis costs six for a Boros 3/4 with a White ETB to make two Green and White Kithkin 1/1s. Then its Red will give all dorks haste and a size boost too. Then Deceit will six-mana Dimir 5/5 size, and that Blue here will bounce one nonland thang and then the Black here will make one foe discard a nonland of our choice.
Emptiness costs six mana for a 3/5 Orzhov dork with White to Sun Titan a dork and then Black here will toss 3 -1/-1 counters on a dork. Then the Gruul Vibrance costs five for a 4/4 one and then Red here will Bolt anything, and then Green here Lay of the Land and gain a pair of life. Then the Simic five-drop 6/5 Wistfulness will Green exile Naturalize and then Blue here will Catalog (draw two, discard one). Love this cycle tons!
#10. The Command Cycle
Next up is this great five kindred spin, literally, on the Command Cycle that are five colors. The first ability of them all will make a copy of that's kindred one's token copy and thus are Clones. Now in alpha, order, here they are. The Izzet Ashling's cost five and then you can draw two, Pyroclasm one person's thangs, or make some Treasures. Then Brigid's three mana Selesnya is also making a 1/1 Kithkin or Giant Growth or fighting as removal. Then the Rakdos Goblin one can also pump our team and give them haste, and then Shatter or Murder in one spot so not both, and then mill five and draw milled Goblins. Then the three-cost Sygg's Merfolk Azorius one can also give our stuff lifelink, draw one or tap and stun counter something. Then the Golgari Elf Trystan's one can also Regrowth two thangs, destroy a dork or enchantment, and then untap and Overrun our team too, but no trample.
#9. Mornsong Aria
Next up is this three-drop legendary enchantment. No one draws or gains life while it's out. Then on each player's draw step they swap three life for a Tutored card, to their hand. Not bad, but so easy to break in so many different ways and it can slow the game down as everyone Tutors every turn.
#8. Hexing Squelcher
This mono-Red Rare Bear has ward two life, and then also gives it to our team. And then it cannot be countered, great to skate! Then also our other spells cannot be countered too, so strong, so powerful! Want to ensure your spells resolve? Embrace it and run it too!
#7. Winnowing AND Soul Immolation
Next up are these two strong mass sweepers. The White six-cost one has convoke and then we choose a dork for each player and then sac the rest that don't share a creature type. Not bad right? I think so too, and sacs cannot be saved but also can be recurred so it's nicer than mass exiling. Then the five-cost Red sorcery will choose and blight a number that cannot be more than our biggest toughness dork, and then shoot all opposing dorks...and their owners...for how much damage you choose. I know!
#6. Tam, Mindful First-Year
Hello Tam and vivid fans! This rare legendary Simic hybrid Bear arrives with each other dork getting hexproof from their colors! Then she taps for no mana to give all colors to something, for mass protection. Love her, but shutting down interaction isn't always a good feeling.
#5. Curious Colossus
Next up is this fun seven-drop on-curve 7/7 Giant Warrior that arrives with each dork of one foe's critters becoming 1/1 Cowards. Note that doesn't ever stop until you answer this.
#4. Glen Elendra's Answer
Everyone likes counters that cannot be countered ever since Last Word. This counters all spells or abilities on the stack no matter how many! Great for storm stuff. Then make a 1/1 Blue and Black flying Faerie too, for each one countered. From counter to win-con in one spell, like Draining Whelk or Access Denied.
#3. Aurora Awakener
Next up is a seven-drop vivid style take on Tooth and Nail that's on a 7/7 trampler body. When it arrives, you can dig our vivid count and drop all revealed permanents. Not draw but drop them for free! I hear you! I adore it.
#2. Bloodline Bidding
This eight-mana convokable Black rare sorcery must be here and this high too. Why? It's basically a Patriarch's Bidding for just you since you name the type when it resolves, and then only we bring back our stuff, not foes. It can win the game very quickly and with convoke it can be cheaper, and in the colors of Cabal Coffers too.
#1. High Perfect Morcant
This Golgari costed 4/4 four-drop rare legendary lady is next and then when her or other Elves arrive, we can for each foe to blight. Then you can tap three Elves to proliferate, so she's all about -1/-1 counters, and dorks. Embrace and love her.
There we go! I hope you can enjoy our top stuff from LE. What's yours? See you next week for the next go around the bin and then check it out for my next blast of goods.r
