Top 15 (More) Casual Cards from Final Fantasy

Reddit

Hello and super happy day to each of you! Today I am doing my 4th Top 15 from the deep FF: MTG set. This is for all kitchen table formats, ideally multiplayer and other stuff like Commander, Five Color, Highlander, Type Four, Pauper and Peasant too. Yay for this! Since the cards from the Commander decks are made for us, we'll look at those later. Ready?

Let's do it to it!

Honorable Mention #1. (#19 Overall) - Jenova, Ancient Calamity

Jenova, Ancient Calamity

This four-drop Golgari Alien lady has a 1/5 body and then two abilites. The first is to get another of your dorks bigger with +1/+1 counters on your combat equal to her power so pump that up. Then they become Mutants, and then when they die on your turn you can draw equal to their power - nasty card draw machine there!

Honorable Mention #2 (#18. Overall) - Eden, Seat of the Sanctum

Eden, Seat of the Sanctum

This Town land taps for colorless and ETBs untapped, then you can tap it with five to mill two and then you can sac this to bring back a permanent from that graveyard, but not what you milled and not necceasrily either if you just want another go around the bin!

Honorable Mention #3. (#17. Overall) - Summon: Knights of Round

Summon: Knights of Round

This fun little thang eight-drop White mythic Summon Knight smaller 3/3 but with indestructible is amazing with four turns of making three 2/2 Knights. Then at the end all dorks get an indestructible counter and temp pump of +2/+2. That's nasty good in any deck and wins fast, but that mana is rough. It's a first-turn play in Type Four with infinite mana but just one spell per turn barring alternate costs like Force of Will.

Honorable Mention #4. (#19. Overall) - Seifer Almasy

Seifer Almasy

Our final one before the Top 15 proper is this red four-drop rare with a 3/4 body and then an attacking dork by itself gets double strike - great mono-Red take on Rafiq and then in a Voltron brew too. Then he has a combat damage trigger to cast a free cheap spell from your graveyard! And twice with double strike and then they are exiled too.

#15. Firion, Wild Rose Warrior

Firion, Wild Rose Warrior

This on-curve 3/3 legendary lady gives your equipped critters haste and then when you drop one make a temperary token of it for free for the turn. She's probably better in the 99 and support an Equipment brew than leading it.

#14. Gladiolus Amicitia

Gladiolus Amicitia

This fun six-drop Gruul dork legendary with on-curve 6/6 size and then a landfall to pump it's size by +2/+2 and trample too. Then it can drop any tapped land to the battlefield from your deck for its ETB trigger, rather than basics normally. Love it much!

#13. Traveling Chocobo

Traveling Chocobo

This three-drop mono-Green mythic is fun since you can play lands from the top of your library like the beloved Oracle of Mul Daya and then Birds too. But just one land per turn still, so it's worse. Then double your landfall and birdfall triggers. Yay!

#12. Ardyn, the Usurper

Ardyn, the Usurper

This eight-drop mono-Black legendary Elder gives your Demons three keywords - evasion with menace, haste to swing now and then lifelink for a double life swing! Then in your combat step exile one dork from any graveyard not just yours and copy it as a 5/5 Demon! Love them much in milling, reanimation, discard and loads more.

#11. Machinist's Arsenal

Machinist's Arsenal

This win-con five-drop rare White Equipment is next! It has job select and then equips for 4. Then your equipped dork gets a massive double boost in size for each Artifact you control! Treasures? Lands? Mana Rocks? Equipment? I hear you! If you are in White with this beloved archetype, add it and win!

#10. From Father to Son

From Father to Son

This costs two, tutors a Vee to your hand and then flashes back for 7. After Aetherdrift that's strong stuff. If played with flashback you can drop it to the battlefield too.

#9. Chocobo Racetrack

Chocobo Racetrack

This five-drop Green uncommon artifact has landfall to make a 2/2 Bird. It also has landfall pump power too - great little synergy there! Enjoy it much, one of the better of these in this suite of Birds with landfall token makers.

#8. Beatrix, Loyal General

Beatrix, Loyal General

Halfway done with our list! This fun six-drop also White rare legendary dork with an undercurved 4/4 size and then vigilance is great with Equipment! Why? She'll give you free Equips on your combat to anything, not just her. Strong stuff in all of the Equipment brews but a bit pricey and smaller size for leading one.

#7. Summon: G.F. Cerberus

Summon: G.F. Cerberus

This mono-Red four-drop Saga Dog Summon is next! On arrival you'll surveil 1 and then on the second turn get a free Fork of your next spell! Then after that get a two mana free copies of your spells instead. I adore that fun little trio much, since you can trigger magecraft stuff too. Get it and run it all up and down the block.

#6. PuPu UFO

PuPu UFO

This fun two-drop 0/4 Flying is next. Great blocking stats. You can tap it to drop a land, not tapped - anything you have to use right then and there! Then invest 3 mana anytime to give it your Towns' count power. Love that without it since it's got flying and costs the same as Fog Bank and in colorless and ramps you too. Don't sleep on this at all!

#5. Relm's Sketching

Relm's Sketching

This fun four-cost sorcery uncommon in Blue will make a copy of any non-enchantment or planeswalker permanents! For the cost of Clone, great. Please note...that's not yours! Love that making lands for ramp in Blue just like Annex but better very fun stuff there! You can also copy or make more with things like Doubling Season or other things too or copy this to make another copy...! Get your copies on!

#4. The Final Days

The Final Days

This four-mana Black uncommon sorcery too will make two tapped dorks of the 2/2 size and Horror persuasion. With flashback and then when cast that way instead X dorks equal to your creature size in your graveyard - nasty win con there in graveyard or milling centric brews. You'll be amazed at how this new and better, and cheaper and color-shifted Grizzly Fate can close out games! Enjoy it much!

#3. Kefka, Court Mage // Kefka, Ruler of Ruin

Kefka, Court Mage // Kefka, Ruler of Ruin

This 5-drop three-color 4/5 transformer is our third spot. When he ETBs or swings, everyone discards. Draw equal to all of the card types form Battles to Lands discarded! Then you can spend 8 mana at sorcery speed to make your foes get Edicted and then flip him into a 5/7 flyer with when your foes lose life (on your turn) you draw...that many cards! That's a crazy amount of card draw from one dork. He's awesome possum! I have claimed him, so the week after Terra I'll be doing him. Love this little Grixis Card Draw machine!

#2. Hecteyes

Hecteyes

This is one of my favorite commons in the set. It's a two-mana version of Relentless Rats in Black. Unlike that it forces everyone else to discard, not just one foe, like Liliana's Specter. It's cheap, Pauper-able and pushes you in card advantage, just not by cards drawn, but other styles of cards.

#1. Summon: Primal Odin

Summon: Primal Odin

This six-drop 5/3 vanilla Summon is our top card here. Its first chapter will Ravenous Chupacabra an opposing dork. Its middle will destroy a foe you smash, but no evasion - so enter Rogue's Passage. On it's final turn you can draw two and then everyone loses two - not just you. Love this guy much and he's my third favorite Summon in the set. Next week I am building around Terra, Magical Adept so you might see him there, not sure if Sagas/Summons will be there.

There we go! What did you think of my next fourth FF: MTG Top 15? I hope you enjoyed it. I still have...another...not kidding here sixty-nine cards I pulled out so I know we'll be doing this next week too, but after that we may need to head to FF: MTG Commander instead just because. Remember for Duskmourn I had tons and no Rooms either, they were their own list.
