Hello happy folks! Recently I talked about my Top 5 Clones in multiplayer formats like Commander here! I generally prefer Clones since you can recur them, bounce them, or flicker them for another go. But today we are looking at spells that make permanent token copies, not temporary ones with haste like Molten Duplication. These are, like Clone, the next place I go for copies since they'll stick around.

Honorable Mentions!

Blue Sun's Twilight - This X-cost spell will steal a dork of X value or less and then if X is 5 or more? Make a copy too! Steal their Consecrated Sphinx and make a copy? Nasty stuff.

Rally the Galadhrim - This four-cost Simic colored sorcery will copy your dork and then copy it again if you tapped two Simic colored things when you cast it. Two copies of your best dork right up front? Great stuff!

Saheeli's Artistry - This sorcery also costs six and then makes two copies right up front on resolution, one of an artifact and one of a creature; but the creature will become an artifact too. That's brilliant and you can copy anyone's stuff not just yours.

Spells that can be Cast From Your Graveyard - Next up is this set of four that hit our graveyard and can be cast from there, with retrace allowing Spitting Image to be as many times as you have lands to discard. Quasiduplicate has jump-start and then copies any of your dorks, Croaking Counterpart copies any non-Frog, but with at a 1/1 size and it becomes a Frog. Self-Reflection makes a token of your dorks and then flashes back for less.

Mythos of Illuna - This card has the ability to copy any permanent. Then if you spent Red and Green to cast it, you can fight a dork on arrival if what you copied was a dork. Great! But you need Temur colored mana to play it in Commander. For Type Four to Five-Color to Commander, if you have the right color identity, why not run it?

#5. Will of the Temur

This six-mana sorcery will do one of two things, or both if you control your Commander. First make a copy of any permanent from anyone at the table, save it's now a 4/4 flying Dragon! Then you can draw equal to your greatest mana value among permanents you control! Making a token of a foe's permanent can sometimes draw you more stuff than if you copied your own stuff. Love it much!

#4. Quantum Misalignment

Next is this five-cost sorcery that just copies your dorks, but if they are legendary they are no longer legendary! This is nice for Commander or key legendary stuff like Akroma. Then you get this once more for free with rebound!

#3. Irenicus's Vile Duplication

This uncommon is next! It also copies your stuff and then strips away legendary status, but it also gets the best form of evasion in flying. It just gives you one token, but it's a good one, and it's cheap to cast.

#2. Clone Legion

Our penultimate pick, and first straight-up win-con, is Clone Legion that makes a token copy for each dork that a foe or you control. I like this one a lot for giving you an instant huge army of copies to leverage for victory!

#1. Rite of Replication

This four-cost sorcery will copy any dork, yours or your foes, and then with a kicker of you make five copies instead. That's nasty strong stuff since 5 copies of many creatures will often win fast. It gives you two options, each great. That's why it's my top permanent token copy maker!
