Naya (Red, Green, White) is the color combo of ferocity and flourish, the primal stomp of Dinosaurs, the chaos of tokens, and the fury of wild combat. While other color combinations study the arcane or scheme in shadows, Naya just wants to turn sideways, crash the party, and roar while doing it.
But not all Naya commanders are created equal. In this list, we're breaking down the top 5 most powerful and fun Naya commanders to helm your next deck - starting from the scrappy caterer at the bottom and climbing our way to the king of the revels at number one.
Before we begin, shoutout to my deep-dive into another wild color combo: Top 5 Sultai Commanders - if you like card advantage, recursion, and graveyard hijinks, that article's your jam. Oh, and put Cloud, Ex-SOLDIER on your radar too. If you read my article, you'll know why I think he's the next ultimate equipment commander.
#5: Rocco, Cabaretti Caterer
Rocco is the walking banquet table that also brings your best creature straight from your library to the battlefield. When you cast him, you get to pay extra mana and fetch up any creature with that mana value or less. Simple. Brutal. Effective.
It's the kind of value that makes your pod suspicious every time you tap for {X}.
This makes Rocco an all-star in creature-combo decks or toolboxes with a silver bullet for every situation. He's not flashy, but he's the guy you want if you always need your best creature - every single game.
Suggested cards
- Felidar Guardian and C for blink-combo shenanigans
- Wirewood Symbiote to bounce Rocco back to your hand for another tutor-tastic round
- Eldritch Evolution, Chord of Calling, and Birthing Pod to keep the tutor train rolling
Rocco may not always be the flashiest guest at the table, but when he shows up with the right main course, the game ends with a toast.
#4: Baylen, the Haymaker
Baylen is proof that even a cute bunny can be an absolute menace at the table. He doesn't generate tokens himself, but once you have a decent army, he turns them into a Swiss army knife of value: mana, card draw, and combat dominance all in one. This Rabbit Warrior was also one of my top picks from my Bloomburrow article.
The flexibility is what makes Baylen a standout - he gives you different rewards for tapping different numbers of tokens. Whether you're ramping ahead, drawing into answers, or smashing face with a trample-laced haymaker, Baylen's got your back.
Suggested cards
- Jacked Rabbit, Second Harvest, and Adeline, Resplendent Cathar to flood the board
- Jinnie Fay, Jetmir's Second turns every token into a fast, furry threat
- Impact Tremors or Craterhoof Behemoth to end games fast
In the right shell, Baylen becomes a one-rabbit value factory, and your opponents will be begging you to stop tapping tokens.
#3: Atla Palani, Nest Tender
Atla Palani plays like a chaotic nature documentary: eggs hatch, and what emerges is a parade of behemoths, gods, and occasionally horrifying game-enders.
The key is simple: make Eggs, then break them. When they die, you reveal cards from your deck until you hit a creature, which you slap straight onto the battlefield. With the right setup, you're turning 0/1 tokens into Blightsteel Colossus,
This deck rewards players who love a bit of unpredictability, but also savvy builders who stack their deck or manipulate the top to ensure consistent carnage.
Suggested cards
- Scroll Rack, Congregation at Dawn, and Sylvan Library to curate your topdeck
- Goblin Bombardment and Ashnod's Altar for efficient egg-cracking
- Etali, Primal Conqueror, Pathbreaker Ibex, and Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant to make those eggs worth the mess
- Mirror Entity is a spicy include that lets all your eggs hatch at the same time
Atla doesn't always hatch the same beast, but when she does - your board state evolves from "cute petting zoo" to "apocalyptic zoo breakout" very quickly.
#2: Pantlaza, Sun-Favored
Move over, Gishath. Pantlaza is the new face of Dinosaur decks everywhere, and he's here to turn toughness into treasure (no, not that kinda treasure!). Every time Pantlaza or another Dinosaur enters the battlefield under your control, you may discover X, where X is the creature's toughness.
Discover is like a cascade-meets-spin-the-wheel mechanic: exile cards from the top until you hit a nonland with mana value X or less. Cast it for free, or tuck it into your hand.
Suggested cards
- Ripjaw Raptor, Ranging Raptors, and Bonehoard Dracosaur for more value
- Vivien, Champion of the Wilds and Yeva, Nature's Herald to cast Dinos at flash speed and during your opponents' turns
- Gishath, Sun's Avatar and Zacama, Primal Calamity to bring the biggest and baddest dinos to the yard
Pantlaza brings you free spells, a steady flow of advantage, and a roar loud enough to wake the meta. It's not just a Dino deck - it's a Dino value engine.
#1: Jetmir, Nexus of Revels
Jetmir is the final boss of go-wide strategies. The more creatures you have, the more deadly your board becomes. Starting at three creatures, your entire team gains vigilance and a power boost. Hit six? Add trample. Hit nine? Double strike.
You don't only swing with a bunch of 1/1s. You swing with a mob of vigilant, trampling, double-striking beaters that turn sideways with impunity. The math stops working in your opponents' favor very quickly.
Jetmir doesn't do much on his own - but he doesn't have to. In a deck that goes wide fast and refills after wipes, Jetmir is your finisher, your anthem, and your win condition all in one.
Suggested cards
- Secure the Wastes, March of the Multitudes, and White Sun's Zenith to go from 0 to 60 (tokens) instantly
- Craterhoof Behemoth or Moonshaker Cavalry, Overrun, and Beastmaster Ascension as backup win conditions (or overkill tools)
- Welcoming Vampire, Skullclamp, and Mentor of the Meek to keep your hand full while flooding the board
If you like your wins loud, lethal, and full of tiny critters punching above their weight - the altar of Jetmir is where you should worship.
Naya Doesn't Whisper, It Roars
Naya commanders don't mess around. They don't slowly tick up or carefully counterspell their way to control. They build. They overwhelm. They win with a stampede, a revel, or eggs that hatch into something horrible and divine.
Each of these five legendary creatures offers a unique path to victory - but they all carry the same message: bring creatures, bring fun, and bring your playgroup to their knees.
And remember - next time someone creates a 0/1 Egg or taps three tokens for no reason... be afraid.
