Top 10 Aetherdrift Cards for Commander

Reddit

Hello everyone! I'm Levi from The Thought Vessel Show, and today we are back at it with another 10 amazing cards for Commander. For this article, I am also including some cards that are exclusive to the precons of Aetherdrift, since there is a lot of power in those sets as well. Without further delay, let's start our engines and hit the track!

10) Monument to Endurance

Monument to Endurance

With cycling decks, wheel decks, and anything else involving discard effects, this is going to become a new staple, generating a ton of value. Taking chunks of life, making treasure, or just drawing cards--this artifact can do it all.

9) Aetheric Amplifier

Aetheric Amplifier

I love the direction of the three-mana-value mana rocks that we are getting in card design recently. Aetheric Amplifier might be the best one we've gotten since Relic of Legends. Being able to pay into an Aetheric Amplifier to double counters with something like energy or double the loyalty on a planeswalker can lead to some incredible play patterns that can win games. With the opportunity cost of costing only one more mana than a Signet, I'm definitely getting one for my planeswalker deck.

8) Demonic Junker

Demonic Junker

First, we get affinity for artifacts, which is going to make this spell cost one Black mana to cast more often than not. At that point, you get a one-mana destroy-three-creatures spell that can be blinked or looped from your graveyard. This could easily clear the board of opposing creatures and stay on the field as a 4/3 or a 6/5, depending on if you targeted your own creature to destroy. This is a very exciting new card for Black artifact decks.

7) Adaptive Omnitool

Adaptive Omnitool

If there's one thing I like in Commander cards, it's adaptability. This card has it in the name. An equipment that buffs the creature for each artifact you have in play and lets you attack and mini-tutor up an artifact to your hand each turn is remarkably strong in a casual deck. I absolutely love this card.

6) Unstoppable Plan

Unstoppable Plan

Similar to Wilderness Reclamation, this card is going to untap all your nonland permanents on your end step, allowing them to be used again at instant speed. There are some infinite mana lines if you have a card like Strionic Resonator in play. I think this card can be simply solid or very abusable because of this. It's nice to see Commander cards that can be used at different levels and still find success.

5) Renewed Solidarity

Renewed Solidarity

A brand-new typal staple coming to us from the Esper Zombie precon, this card not only buffs your creatures but also copies your tokens on the end step. I can definitely see this card seeing a lot of play in a deck like Millicent, Restless Revenant, which is a typal deck that also relies on token production for value.

4) Hashaton, Scarab's Fist

Hashaton, Scarab's Fist

This commander is everywhere right now, including in the cEDH space. Utilizing cards like Tortured Existence, this deck is able to churn out a ridiculous amount of value in a very short amount of time through your 4/4 zombie creations. Since this is a triggered ability, it is also substantially harder to interact with. I think this commander has some legitimate staying power in a very powerful color combination.

3) Loot, the Pathfinder

Loot, the Pathfinder

What's a top 10 list from yours truly without bringing up the latest in Loot technology? This time around, our little polarizing friend is back in Temur colors with three different exhaust abilities that can draw cards, produce mana, or send a lightning bolt at a target. Traditionally, these abilities are only supposed to be used once, but with cloning and blinking abilities, we can reset that effect over and over again. With a card that can increase mana production or lower costs, you could be looking at an infinite mana combo with infinite damage very easily.

2) Stridehangar Automaton

Stridehangar Automaton

Similar to Universal Automaton, this is going to go into every Commander deck that is trying to make tokens. This could be something like a Sam and Frodo food deck or even a Prosper, Tome-Bound treasure deck to build up an army of 2/2 fliers to attack with or build up a blocking wall. This has combo potential as well in a deck like Magda, Brazen Outlaw. Overall, this is an incredible card, and I think the price will only increase from here until it gets reprinted in the future.

1) Ketramose, the New Dawn

Ketramose, the New Dawn

This is one of the most interesting potential commanders from this entire set. By exiling cards from play or a graveyard, you can draw an incredible amount of cards. This could be done by blinking creatures, exiling graveyards with Relic of Progenitus, or even a simple Swords to Plowshares. It shouldn't take too long to get to seven cards in exile to be able to attack with Ketramose and gain the life back that is lost from drawing cards. I can see this one being incredibly annoying to deal with, but the power is definitely there, and I see this becoming a very popular commander in Orzhov for a while.

And there you have it! Another top 10 cards for Commander from Aetherdrift. Despite completing two top 10 lists, this set still had a lot to offer. I am very excited to try out more and more of these cards as I can get my hands on them. And as always, if you want to give any of these cards a chance, you can find them here, on CoolStuffInc. Until next time, happy gaming!
