Weekly Sale Commander: Deck the Halls - Part 5 of 6: Multicolored!

Hi folks! Welcome to the Weekly Sale Column! This column will be aimed at showing you some cards on sale that could give you some new ideas for your lists. They will *usually* be Commander lists in Bracket 3 as well so you'll be able to play these in any Bracket 3 (or higher) pods. If you want to play in lower pods, just swap out the Game Changers for other choices and/or add more along with some other competitive combos if you want to compete with Bracket 4 and 5 pods! Keep in mind that the game changers in your deck aren't the only thing that moves you up and down a bracket. Your intent with your deck; inclusions of other interactions, engines, and combos, and overall playgroup should also be factors in your bracket!

For the Deck the Halls sale over the next couple weeks, it's broken up into six total parts over the course of the sale. Each part ends in a couple days, so be sure to get your orders in before we move to the next color! Part 5: Multicolored ends on Tuesday night at 11:59 PM before we get to the final part of this sale with Part 6: Artifacts and Lands!

Good day to all you Legends! It's time for Part 5! It's been nice taking a break from the Mono-Color decks we had last week. Today, we continue that trend with the Multicolored part of the sale! Today's deck is led by the king of legends himself, Jodah, the Unifier! Jodah is a Five-Color Human Wizard 5/5 that pumps your legendary creatures' P/T by the number of legendary creatures you control. On top of that, he also has a version of Cascade specific to legendary spells! Basically, when cast a legendary spell, you flip until you get another legendary spell that costs less! Our deck is going to be Legends galore! Let's get into it!

This deck is going to be Legend, wait for it...

To start, we want as many legends-matters cards as we can play! This also means that we're opting to play cards that apply to legends instead of cards that don't! Starting at the lower end, we've opted for Delighted Halfling over Birds of Paradise, Bugenhagen, Wise Elder over Bloom Tender, and Helga, Skittish Seer over Faeburrow Elder! Hajar, Loyal Bodyguard gives us some protection for a low cost over Heroic Intervention, Esika, God of the Tree works as our version of Enduring Vitality, and Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar is in place over cards like Grand Abolisher or Voice of Victory! There's basically a legendary version for any card we want to play; Magic is great for that! For a little card advantage, Sisay, Weatherlight Captain can help us find cards in our deck for , Reki, the History of Kamigawa gives us card draw for all of our legendary spells, and Kethis, the Hidden Hand will make our spells cost less along with giving us some recursion!

Continuing on the card advantage front, Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain gives us card draw for our historic spells (which includes legends), Muldrotha, the Gravetide turns our graveyard into extra card draw, and Kellan, the Kid (all star from the Wild West Sale from back in July), gives us tons of advantage when we use Jodah's Legendary Cascade!

Moving away from creatures, we've also got some great legends-matters in other card types! Mithril Coat is a Legendary Equipment that's going to protect our Commander, or really anything we want (but mostly Jodah). Relic of Legends turns all of our creatures into mana dorks, similar to Esika, God of the Tree, and then there's a plethora of enchantments that are great for legends. Courtesy of Outlaws of Thunder Junction, we have the trio of Kellan Joins Up, Annie Joins Up, and Rakdos Joins Up! Each one of these have utility that is useful for our legendary deck, while also just being useful on their own, such as Rakdos Joins Up acting as a reanimation spell and Annie Joins Up acting as a removal spell!

Urza's Ruinous Blast and Primevals' Glorious Rebirth, being legendary sorceries, need a legendary creature of planeswalker in play to cast, but have extremely powerful effects! Search for Glory will search for any legendary card or a saga, which includes things like Otawara, Soaring City and The Kami War!

Change the Game!

Filling this list's Game Changer slots was incredibly easy here! To start, we've got The One Ring! The One Ring is a legendary artifact that will act as unparalleled card draw while also protecting us the turn cycle it comes down. Next, we've got Vampiric Tutor, which goes quite nicely with Jodah's legendary cascade! You can even respond to Jodah's trigger by casting Vampiric Tutor, to basically guarantee exactly what you want to cast, assuming it costs less, of course. Finally, we have Grand Arbiter Augustin IV. He may put a target on your head for what he does to your opponents, but this legend will help you cast so many of your spells for cheaper, with ones that are at least costing 2 less!

This deck is quite easy to upgrade to some higher level play! There are some strong legends that we can add which beef up our deck dramatically! Najeela, the Blade-Blossom works well with Esika, God of the Tree to give us infinite combat steps! We also already play Ratadrabik of Urborg, so if you include Boromir, Warden of the Tower, you have a two-card combo that will give you a non-legendary token of Boromir, and then that token will then become your Ring-bearer, making it legendary! Then you can rinse and repeat, since Ratadrabik of Urborg just wants to see a legendary creature die. With something like Warleader's Call (which we also play) or Rakdos Joins Up, you'll just kill your opponents with the damage!
