Magic: The Gathering - Tactics, the game developed by Sony Online Entertainment Denver, which combines Magic: The Gathering with a tactical turn-based combat computer game has a release date: January 18th, 2011 for the PC version of the game, and it will be ported to the PS3 later this year.

The game was originally scheduled for release in June of 2010. Recently SOE flew a number of Magic writers and gaming journalists to Denver to check the game out and provide feedback, you can read my write up on that trip.

The game is free to play, instead of charging for the software you will purchase booster packs and additional scenarios if you're playing the campaign mode. It offers online competition against other players in tournaments as well as drafts. To learn more visit the Tactics' official website.
