Following some teasing around on social media, the NYC Pauper League - one of the biggest Pauper groups on the USA East Coast - made a major announcement. On July 12, 2026, they will be hosting the USA Pauper Nationals in Baltimore, Maryland.
This event aims to be a North American event on the scale of the wildly successful Paupergeddon event in Italy. That even regularly pulls in upwards of 1000 players from not just Europe, but the world over. Even The Professor has announced that he'll be there at the next Paupergeddon event happening on March 21st.
But wait, there's more.
CubeCon is teaming up with the NYC Pauper League and the DMV Legacy League to run a trio of charity tournaments in Baltimore on July 11-12,
I am happy to finally invite you to...

While the USA Pauper Nationals got a ton of initial attention, there was more to the announcement than simply a major Pauper event taking place. In addition to this notable event, it was revealed that it would be taking place with the DMV Legacy League Classic as well as CubeCon DMV.
This marks the first time CubeCon comes to the East Coast, following a massively popular annual event taking place in Madison, WI. While the traditional Midwest event will take place in August, CubeCon DMV will join the USA Pauper Nationals, taking place July 11th and 12th.
More details are still to come, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled for further information.
WPN Premium is Changing
One of the more interesting and surprising topics of the past week was that WPN Premium is changing. WPN (or Wizards Play Network) stores have had the option of working toward Premium status for some time. Now this will be changing as WPN shifts into a tier-based system, tracking a variety of metrics while offering interesting and unique benefits to stores who achieve different levels.
The specifics of this transition process are quite deep, with several articles for stores and their owners to explore. If you'd like to learn more about the changes to these programs and how they impact you and your local game store, you can check out the links below.

If this Standard season has shown us anything, it's just how much room there is for growth in the format. Even with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles entering the format, new decks with the pre-existing card pool are still finding ways to make a splash.
Case in point, this new Mono-White deck that has been showing up and posting some results in recent days. This list is a classic White Weenies style of deck, spamming the board with small creatures, making them big thanks to Cosmogrand Zenith, and using small amounts of removal to take problematic threats. It's a fun and easy way to play one of the craziest formats around today.
With Spotlight Series: TMNT happening in Richmond, VA this weekend, it will be fun to watch and see what new cards make a splash. Will Super Shredder make an appearance, or will Cool but Rude make a splash in Izzet Lessons decks? We'll just have to wait and find out on Saturday.
