The Top Five Green Cards in Aetherdrift

Reddit

Magic: The Gathering will be about going fast and knocking out your opponents in Aetherdrift. Green always focuses on ramping up and building on power. Will this continue into Aetherdrift? Let's take a look at the top five Green cards in Aetherdrift.

Oviya, Automech Artisan

For just3g you can play a legendary creature that can cheat out any creature of Vehicle card in your hand to the battlefield. Green finds ways to make its version of "fast" and Oviya, Automech Artisan will certainly make people furious.

Commander: Oviya, Automech Artisan will be the big Commander card out of Aetherdrift. Load up your deck with massive creatures and the best vehicles you can find, then pay g and bring one out without paying.

Sealed: Oviya, Automech Artisan will be a prized card in Sealed games. She's not overly expensive and can start putting larger, more costly creatures in the turn after she's played. If you pull her, make sure you play around her.

Constructed: Our pal Oviya, Automech Artisan will find her way into the Constructed play. She will be a sideboard card, but she will be a contributor. She's just too good. Did you know Ghalta, Primal Hunger is Standard legal?

March of the World Ooze

Want to boost your creatures from 1/1 weenies to chunky 6/6 Oozes? March of the World Ooze will do just that. This3ggg isn't a cheap spell but can be a game-ender in every format.

Commander: Shroofus Sproutsire sends his regards. With March of the World Ooze, you can turn going wide with dozens of small creatures into an overwhelming ooze wave of destruction. This will be a favorite.

Sealed: This is a tougher spot. I know March of the World Ooze works well in Sealed. At the same time, the six-mana investment is not a small commitment. If you want to use this card, you must include plenty of small creatures to get out on the board first.

Constructed: March of the World Ooze will work in Constructed formats. It may not be a staple though. If you can build a deck that can get a lot of tokens on the board, this card will be a major payoff. Can you get the land on the board in time to cash in?

Regal Imperiosaur

While reviewing cards for this list, I came across Regal Imperiosaur. This 1gg 5/4 creature is an anthem for dinosaurs and comes in at a value price. It doesn't do anything else, but does it have to?

Commander: If you are going to run dinosaurs in your deck, you would be out of your mind not including Regal Imperiosaur. Getting this guy out early means those dinosaurs will be bigger and faster. It's also an easy turn two play.

Sealed: Aetherdrift has a good amount of dinosaurs at your disposal. On its own Regal Imperiosaur is a solid body. With a few more dinosaurs on the battlefield, it is trouble.

Constructed: It's not uncommon to see dinosaurs in Green when you are playing Constructed. Regal Imperiosaur is low enough to the ground that you can get a few out early and then keep the pressure with other, more powerful dinosaurs.

Thunderous Velocipede

This 1gg will be a major pain for opponents. Want to turn any smaller creature into something a lot bigger? Thunderous Velocipede has the potential to create wild momentum.

Commander: My favorite Commander is Voja, Jaws of the Conclave, all of those 1/1 elves look a lot scarier with Thunderous Velocipede on the board. This vehicle will be popular, even if it never gets crewed.

Sealed: This is a juiced card for Sealed. Vehicles are an important part of Aetherdrift and having one or more of Thunderous Velocipede makes them better. Most low-cost creatures will come in even bigger, so they'll be in a great position to crew.

Constructed: This card has the potential to be a nice pain in the butt for opponents. Having numerous +1/+1 counters on creatures and vehicles will give you access to many shenanigans.

District Mascot

Aw, look at this little guy. District Mascot is a g creature that comes in as a 1/1. What makes this guy special is that it is also a mount that receives a +1/+1 counter when Saddled. On his own, he may not come off too strong, but you can sacrifice +1/+1 counters to destroy artifacts.

Commander: Artifact hate is a great thing and District Mascot perpetually has it. Keeping this corgi pumped up on counters isn't a hard thing to do. Sol Rings and key artifacts don't even have a chance with the goodest boy on the board.

Sealed: Any Sealed event will focus heavily on using vehicles and a few of the great artifacts in the set. District Mascot functions as a way to keep these in your opponent's graveyard. He's a solid addition!

Constructed: Counters is a solid strategy in Constructed. District Mascot is a happy recipient of counters and makes use of them. This card won't be meta-defining, but it is a strong card to consider.

Green has a lot of potential in Aetherdrift. This color will ruin your opponent's days on its own. In multicolored decks, it enhances the whole thing. This may only be the top five cards in Green, but it had plenty of contenders.
