During the live webcast of the Pro Tour Amsterdam Top 8, Brian David-Marshall and Rich Hagon announced the inductees for this year's Pro Tour Hall of Fame class. To be inducted, inductees must receive at least 40% of the votes cast by the selection and the player committees, this means that the number inducted fluctuates depending on the balance and focus of voters.
This year's Hall of Fame class is: Gabriel Nassif (France), Brian Kibler (USA) and Tomoharu Saito (Japan).
Gabriel Nassif's induction was never in doubt, every published ballot by the selection committee contained his name, causing many to wonder if he might be the first unanimous inductee into the Hall. It does not seem he was though.
Brian Kibler's induction also seemed quite likely given his hot performance since he unretired from the game, and on the day of his announced induction he was competing in the Top 8 of Pro Tour Amsterdam.
Tomoharu Saito may have been the most controversial inductee of this year's ballot as many seemed concerned over his early suspensions.
