Another Top Fifteen Cards from Final Fantasy: Commander

Reddit

Hello and happiest of days to each of you! Today I am knocking out my 2nd Top 15 article for you all for the aforementioned format of Commander from this set as well as pretty much all other kitchen table stuff like multiplayer, Type Four, Highlander, and then Five Color too. All multiplayer stuff though leads. Ready for the good stuff to emerge from this set? Last Week was my first one here.

Honorable Mention #1. (#19. Overall) - SOLDIER Military Program

SOLDIER Military Program

This three-drop White enchantment will in your combat make a free 1/1 Soldier or will toss a pair of counters on two. And if you've got your Commander down - both! Obviously great in Commander, Tokens or Soldier brews. Our old friend Alan had a 60 card Solider brew with things like Mobilization this would slide right on into!

Honorable Mention #2. (#18. Overall) - Papalymo Totolymo

Papalymo Totolymo

This fun two-drop Orzhov 1/2 is a nice take on Guttersnipe since you'll hit them all for a life and then gain it like Blood Artist and it's for non-dorks not just instants and sorceries. Then you can tap and sac for four mana this Dwarf to have each foe who lost life this turn also get Innocent Blooded but their biggest power one. Nice little emergency removal valve to spin for this win-con! Note that's not at sorcery speed too. Yay!

Honorable Mention #3. (#17. Overall) - The Warring Triad

The Warring Triad

I adore this three-drop Manalith variant that mills you a card for graveyard fuel. Then if you've got threshold, plus one card there, you can turn this into a dork with 5/5 size and flying, trample and haste too! This is an amazing Manarock for all of the good synergies and graveyard good stuff you'll want to unfurl on your foes! Get it and run it all up and down the block...enjoy this's power!

Honorable Mention #4. (#16. Overall) - Fandaniel, Telophoroi Ascian

Fandaniel, Telophoroi Ascian

This awesome five-drop mono-Black at 4/5 is next. It has got a Spellslinger trigger to surveil one for good card flow or graveyard filling too. Then in your end step your foes get either get Edicted with a nontoken one or lose a huge amount of life with 2 life per spell in your graveyard....nasty either leading a brew or in support of one, although I prefer the latter since its just one color and not great for support outside of traditional Spellslinger colors. Enjoy this fun little thing!

#15. Cloud, Ex-SOLDIER

Cloud, ex-SOLDIER

This fun Bant five-drop okay size 4/4 with a good haste to swing now and then a nice ETB to get a free Equipment attached to him. Then when he attacks that turn you can draw for each attacking dork you have that's equipped, even just one with him. Then you can make a pair of Treasures for ramping if his power has grown in size by +3 or more. Most Equipment leaders are just Boros, but here you add in that awesome Green ramping too. Nasty good!

#14. Yuffie, Materia Hunter

Yuffie, Materia Hunter

This awesome three-drop mono-Red with ninjutsu two for an on-curve size at 3/3 will steal stuff when she arrives of a foe's non-critter artifact like Sol Ring or The One Ring and then you get a free equip to her. I love her different but very red take on Ninjas here. Enjoy her era that's about to get introduced and empowered with that stealing.

#13. Avalanche of Sector 7

Avalanche of Sector 7

I adore this three-drop power equal to your enemies' artifacts they control in modern day kitchen table play with menace too. Then when they use them for anything they are pinged for a damage. Nasty and just dropping this on the stack might get all of your foe's to sac their Treasures and Clues and such since they won't want to actively help you. With them used so much in today's Commander and multiplayer metagames, that's strong stuff. Then their mana rocks, Solemns and Equipment like Skullclamp and Lightning Greaves too. It's so good! Get and run this great answer.

#12. Terra, Herald of Hope

Terra, Herald of Hope

I love the name of this fun three-drop Mardu thing and I hope I've been a Herald of Hope for you all over the years. She has a 3/3 size and then in your combat will mill two and then get flying nice. But she's here for that one to pay two mana when she deals that evasive combat damage to Sun Titan a cheap creature back tapped - awesome possum!

#11. Hraesvelgr of the First Brood

Hraesvelgr of the First Brood

I adore this five-drop on-curve flying, vigilance and ward too on a 5/5 body and then legendary too. When it ETBs and other non-critter casts will make one of your dorks unblockable and a power pump too - so this is a fun Voltron style Commander or Spellslinger option - interesting right? I hope so!

#10. Summon: Esper Valigarmanda

Summon: Esper Valigarmanda

This Summon Red rare with flying and haste too is next. On arrival you'll exile your choice of an instant or sorcery from all graveyards yours too - and then you can cast them over the next three turns with mana made from its later chapters for that. I adore that so much! Get your graveyard hosing and spell casting too!

#9. Banon, the Returners' Leader

Banon, the Returners' Leader

This two-drop Boros blocking size 1/3 legendary dork is next and I am building a Budget Commander take around him next week. When you swing with anything you can spend a mana to discard and draw. Then each of your turns you can cast one dork that was put there from anywhere other than in play.

#8. Edgar, Master Machinist

Edgar, Master Machinist

This also great Boros-colored legendary dork with a blockable size at 2/4 is great for recursion, this time for free casts of your artifacts from your graveyard once/turn on yours. Then when you get your swing on with him you can pump him power equal to the biggest artifact we control so he's a bit of a win-con too there - which is why he's one better, not as synergetic but can bring them all back and then pumps power too.

#7. Summon: Yojimbo

Summon: Yojimbo

This Summon is next on today's list! It costs four for a better than the curve at 5/5 with vigilance too and then on arrival you'll exile an opposing artifact, enchantment or tapped dork. Love that exile there to get past indestructible. Then, on the next two turns you've got a Ghostly Prison and then the last turn you can make a bunch of tapped Treasures to ramp you equal to your opposing players with high power stuff. Love that much!

#6. Yuna, Grand Summoner

Yuna, Grand Summoner

This three-color Bant four-drop with a big toughness at 1/5 is a great mana tapper like BOP since she'll tap for one mana of any color, and then when you cast a dork this turn, not just from her, you can grow it permanently with a pair of counters. Then whenever another permanent heads to your great graveyard to the sky, if it had counters on it you can toss those as counters onto any of your dorks! She's amazing with things from lands like Vivid Grove to Noble Hierarch to Sagas and win-cons like Rafiq. Love her much, and she's great support in any Five Color the format brew since she's just like BOP et all but better. I also enjoy her in toughness matters stuff too.

#5. Hermes, Overseer of Elpis

Hermes, Overseer of Elpis

This fun four-drop Spellslinger Blue adjunct is next again with a blockable size of 2/4. Hermes will turn your non-dork casts into flyers of the Bird persuasion and then vigilance too. Then when you get your attack on with them you'll scry two. Nice! His dorks are smaller than similarly costed Talrand the Drake maker but they can be made with a wider swath of spells and then have vigilance too and add in scry too, so I find them roughly even.

#4. Yuna's Decision

Yuna's Decision

Next up is this fun little four-cost sorcery with all of the fun stuff. It has two choices - sac a dork, draw, then drop one for free no mana needed. That's nasty! Or you can Restock too, also nasty. Love that fun little option - either a Tooth and Claw variant or double Regrowth for permanents only. Love that flexibility much! I'm sure you will too.

#3. Summon: Good King Mog XII

Summon: Good King Mog XII

This is my favorite Summon in this set, let us look at why! This costs five for a lifelinking flying 4/4 Moogle. On arrival you'll make a pair of 1/2 also lifelinking Moogles. Then the next two turns you'll turn non-dork casts into a copy of a non-Saga token you have from those to bigger thangs or even Treasures too. Then on the last chapter you can toss a pair of counters on all of the Moogles you control - making this little guy have loads of fun dials and face punches too. Get it and run it and love it!

#2. G'raha Tia, Scion Reborn AND Y'shtola, Night's Blessed

G'raha Tia, Scion Reborn
Y'shtola, Night's Blessed

This duo of Esper Spellslinger leaders are next, and I adore them for all of the good stuff they unfurl on your foes as well as together too. The 2/3 former one has a three-cost with lifelink and then when you cast a non-dork you can spend life equal to it's cost, and then make a 1/1 Hero dork with that many counters so a Fact or Fiction would make a 5/5 dork for four life. Then the latter four-drop 2/4 size with vigilance has an EOT trigger each players turn and if anyone lost four or more life you can draw. Great with the first one and then when you cast a pricier one you can drain 2 life from all foes so that would also fuel the first ability too. Love them loads and in the same brew.

#1. Summoner's Sending

Summoner's Sending

This two-mana White enchantment has an EOT at your step only to exile a card of the creature persuasion from any graveyard! Then you can make a 1/1 Spirit with flying. Then grow it with a counter if it was pricey at four or more. I adore that as subtle graveyard answers in multiplayer formats since you can slowly answer them over time. It also reads this is a "may" so if you are the only one with dorks and you'd prefer to keep them you certainly can! I enjoy this loads and it's amazing value over time since its cheap works in your EOT as soon as you drop it, and then just never need to do anything else.

There we go! Another 15 plus some Honorable Mentions down! I hope you enjoyed this much. See you next week for the end of this where I've got another 32 cards left that I've pulled!
