Flash Meets Future Sight with Elsha!

Reddit

Hello and happiest of days to each of you! Today we have a great combo for you all! A few weeks ago I wrote about why you should include a Flash Engine in your decks and then wrote up an Azorius Flash brew around Sally Sparrow. I've also got a piece coming up about Future Sight, and I thought I would combine these three ideas with a certain Jeskai-colored leader named Elsha!

Elsha of the Infinite

This five-drop 3/3 Djinn Monk has prowess and can cast the wide range of noncreature spells from the top of your library at instant speed! Last week's brew focused on flashing out creatures, and now I want to give some attention to noncreatures with this Spellslinger-ish leader.

Lands and Mana

Wayfarer's Bauble
Expedition Map

Let's start with the mana foundation and this duo of 1-drop artifacts that cost 1 and tap and sac for two to search up a land and put it in your hand. Wayfarer's Bauble grabs a basic land and puts it into play tapped. Expedition Map printed can grab any land but it puts it in your hand, not into play. I also want to include Mana Rocks that sac for value, like Mind Stone and the like.

Mystic Sanctuary
Crystal Skull, Isu Spyglass

Now let's turn to this fun, Blue duo. Mystic Sanctuary will often enter untapped, and can recur a spell to the top of your library top if it does. And Crystal Skull, Isu Spyglass is a Future Sight for historic spells, which is great for what we have planned in this deck!

Isolated Watchtower
Emergence Zone

Isolated Watchtower taps for two to scry 1 and then you can reveal the top card and put it into play if it's a basic land. That's also a great way to get basic lands off the top of our library to look for spells. Emergence Zone sacs for one-mana and can give all our cool stuff flash for the turn.

Ishgard, the Holy See
Lindblum, Industrial Regency

Now let's turn to this Adventure Town duo! Ishgard, the Holy See can Regrowth two artifacts or enchantments from our graveyard. Lindblum, Industrial Regency can make a Black Wizard token to ping people as we cast noncreature spells.

Academy Ruins
Hall of Heliod's Generosity

And now let's finish this section with this set of legendary lands that tap for 2 mana to reload either an artifact or enchantment to that sweet top of our library to be cast at instant speed with Elsha! I also tossed in all the ETB scry and surveil lands to clear off the top of our library to get more Elsha fun.

Synergies and Win-Cons

One with the Multiverse
Leyline of Anticipation

Now, let's talk about the core synergies of the deck and how we plan to win. One with the Multiverse is Future Sight with the upside that once a turn you can cast one spell from the top of your library or our hand for free! Leyline of Anticipation gives all of our stuff flash and is free to put into play if it starts in your opening hand. I also tossed in Valley Floodcaller as another way to give our noncreature spells flash.

Kykar, Wind's Fury
Kykar, Zephyr Awakener
Whispering Wizard

Kykar, Wind's Fury gives you a 1/1 Flying spirit creature token when you cast a noncreature spell, and can sac those spirits for Red mana! Kykar, Zephyr Awakener gives you the option to either make a spirit or flicker a creature when you cast a noncreature spell. Whispering Wizard also makes a spirit, but just once per turn.

Ovika, Enigma Goliath
Shark Typhoon

Now let's turn to this game-winning noncreature casts for creature making. Ovika, Enigma Goliath grants you 1/1 Phyrexian Goblins with haste equal to the mana value of every noncreature spell you cast! Shark Typhoon also gives you a token for casting noncreature spells, it just makes a single flyer with power and toughness equal to the mana value of the spell. Or you can cycle it!

Saheeli, Sublime Artificer
Hermes, Overseer of Elpis

Next up are some sweet, synergistic dork makers! Saheeli, Sublime Artificer makes 1/1 Servos, and then you can -2 her twice to turn an artifact into a Clone of another artifact for the turn! Hermes, Overseer of Elpis turns noncreature spells cast into 1/1 flying Birds with vigilance. Then whenever you attack with one or more birds you get to scry two (which is great for manipulating the top of your library)!

Aligned Heart
Elsha, Threefold Master

Then there are these token makers that give us monks with prowess. Aligned Heart gains a rally counter each time we cast our 2nd spell on a turn. Then, we create Monks based on the number of Rally counters on it! Elsha, Threefold Master has prowess on its own, and a combat damage trigger for making a monk token with prowess for each damage it dealt.

Coruscation Mage
Narset, Enlightened Exile

Coruscation Mage turns all of our noncreature casts into a one-damage ping on all foes, so make sure you pay its offspring cost! Narset, Enlightened Exile gives all of our stuff prowess too! Then, when she swings you can exile a spell from any graveyard with mana value less than her power, copy it and cast it for free.

Ral, Crackling Wit
Narset of the Ancient Way

And now let's talk about some planeswalkers! Ral, Crackling Wit gains a loyalty counter whenever you cast a noncreature spell, then you can +1 him to make an Otter 1/1 with prowess. Then you can -3 him to draw three cards and discard two. Narset of the Ancient Way can +1 to make mana for casting noncreature spells and 2 life or -2 to draw a card and then you can discard if you want to shoot something equal to the mana value of the discarded card.

Jaya, Fiery Negotiator
Unstoppable Plan

Jaya, Fiery Negotiator arrives with four abilities and four loyalty. She can +1 to make a 1/1 prowess Monk or -1 to exile the top two cards of your library and choose one to cast this turn. You can -2 to pick a creature and then deal damage equal to our number of attacking creatures when you attack that turn. Unstoppable Plan untaps all nonland permanents you control at the beginning of your end step. So, feel free to attack and tap with wild abandon and then still be able to block!

Lyse Hext
Summon: Good King Mog XII
Myth Realized

And we'll finish up our look at win cons with this trio! Lyse Hext reduces the cost of our noncreature spells and then we cast two or more on a turn, she gets double strike. Summon: Good King Mog XII arrives with two 1/2s with lifelink, and then on the next two turns you can make a copy of a non-Saga token when you cast a noncreature spell! Myth Realized turns each cast into a lore counter, and you add a lore counter for three mana as well. Then you can turn it into a creature with power/toughness equal to the number of lore counters on it for the turn.

Answers

Desertion
Spelljack

And now let's turn to answers with Desertion and Spelljack, Counterspell, Dovin's Veto and then the two counters with scry or surveil to manipulate the top off our library. Desertion will counter anything, but if it was an artifact or creature you get to put it into play yourself. Spelljack will also counter anything, exile it, and let you cast it for free!

The Wandering Emperor
Expose to Daylight

Next up is this White removal duo, and things like Generous Gift. The Wandering Emperor arrives and can use abilities when she does. You can +1 her as a combat trick to give your dork first strike and a +1/+1 counter, or you can -1 her to make a 2/2 blocker with vigilance or -2 her to exile a tapped dork and gain two life. Expose to Daylight is a Disenchant that lets you scry!

Control Magic
Take Possession

Now let's turn to these Auras that steal, which is truly nasty at instant speed! Control Magic will steal a creature, and Take Possession has split second and can take any permanent.

Time Wipe
Supreme Verdict

We'll wrap up looking at answers with mass-removal. Time Wipe will bounce one of our creatures and then destroys all creatures. Supreme Verdict is mass removal that cannot be countered. Now casting both of these with flash? Nasty!

Card Draw

Narset Transcendent
Ugin, Eye of the Storms

Let's finish things out with card draw. Narset Transcendent can +1 to look at the top card of your library and if it's a noncreature spell you can reveal it and put it in your hand. Then she can -2 to give our next spell cast this turn (from your hand) Rebound. Ugin, Eye of the Storms Exiles a colored permanent on cast and then again when you cast another colorless spell. He can +2 to draw and gain a 3 life, or 0 him to make three colorless mana.

Whirlwind of Thought
Jeskai Ascendancy
Serum Sovereign

Whirlwind of Thought draws a card every time you cast a noncreature spell. Jeskai Ascendancy loots then pumps the team and untaps our dorks when you cast a noncreature spell. If you have your commander out, even if your hand is empty you can threaten to trigger Ascendancy at instant speed! Once you've caught your opponent by surprise by untapping your team or saving them from damage, they won't miscalculate again. Serum Sovereign accumulates oil counters you can turn in for cards and scrying, like casting Serum Visions!

Robe of the Archmagi
Scroll Rack

Robe of the Archmagi says when the equipped creature deals combat damage to a player, you draw that many cards! And it Equips to Wizards, Shaman, or Warlocks for a paltry 1 mana. Finally, we need more ways to manipulate the top of library, so I tossed in Ponder and Brainstorm but we'd ideally like to manipulate the top of our library repeatably. Enter Sensei's Divining Top and Scroll Rack!

Ready for my deck? I got you!
