Yu-Gi-Oh! Legendary 5D's Decks recently released and comes with 3 decks featuring characters from the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime: Yusei Fudo, Akiza Izinski, and Crow Hogan. The package also includes character tokens and chibi versions of each of the character's ace dragons. Here are 3 reasons to pick up this product for your dueling needs.
#1 - Casual Friendly
Legendary 5D's Decks comes with 3 preconstructed decks ready for dueling based on characters from the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime. Fans of the anime and casual players will have a lot of fun with this product since you get 3 ready-to-play decks that can compete against each other or be upgraded to more competitive versions. It's also a nice product to introduce a friend to Yu-Gi-Oh! While not quite as new player friendly as the Two-Player Starter Set from 2024, each of the Legendary 5D's decks only focus on one archetype of cards and largely 1 summoning mechanic (Synchro).
#2 - New Cards
The Yusei deck comes with 7 brand new cards to rev up the Synchron strategy. Full-Speed Warrior and Synchro Fellowship are your new starters for the engine. They allow you easy access to Junk Synchron for a level 5 Synchro play. Scrap Synchron is the new Synchron on the block and Scrap Warrior is one of your two new Extra Deck monsters. These are somewhat like extenders since Scrap Synchron can be used as a Synchro material from the hand if you're summoning a "Warrior" Synchro Monster. Meanwhile, Scrap Warrior allows you to get Junk Synchron back to your hand and insulates your Junk Warrior plays by preventing the effects of Synchro monsters with "Warrior" in their original names from being negated, except itself.
Ideally, you'll want to have or bring back Scrap Warrior when you summon the new boss monster Junk Warrior Extreme. Junk Warrior Extreme lets you to reborn as many level 2 or lower monsters as possible from your GY. You can also banish it when it destroys a monster by battle to Special Summon 1 "Junk" Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck. Do this in combination with "Scrap Fist" and the original Junk Warrior can get absolutely massive for a potential OHKO attack.
Unfortunately, Yusei's Synchron deck is the only one of the three decks to receive new cards in the Legendary 5D's Decks. However, if you picked up the most recent core set Doom of Dimensions, you may have gotten some new support cards for Akiza's Black Rose deck. Black Rose Garden is a great card to search off of Roxrose Dragon's effect, which can get you into White Rose Dragon for a level 7 Synchro Play. Black Rose Garden also has the added benefit of turning all cards on the field into plants.
Rage Rose Witch, a newly introduced synchro monster makes it so plant monster you control cannot be destroyed by card effects. Pairing this with the Black Rose Dragon's board wiping effect and the Spell card Black Rose Garden, your monsters will be perfectly set up to go for game. When it's Synchro Summoned, Rage Rose Witch can also send a plant monster to the GY from each the deck and Extra Deck. Sending Garden Rose Maiden can help extend your plays or have follow-up for the next turn.
I can't forget to mention Bramble Rose Dragon, a new variant of Black Rose Dragon. In addition to being able to tag out into Black Rose Dragon as a Quick Effect, Bramble Rose also burns your opponent for 600 damage each time your opponent activates a monster effect, then all monsters they control lose 600 ATK. It's good at keeping your opponent at bay then swapping out at the right time for the big Black Rose Dragon play. If you're looking to take the Black Rose strategy to the next level, definitely check out those cards.
#3 - Reprints
Legendary 5D's Decks includes reprints of cards new and old to the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game. Reprints of some recent staples include Mulcharmy Purulia, Mulcharmy Fuwalos, and Mulcharmy Meowls. The Mulcharmy cards all have a pseudo- "Maxx C" effect, where you draw cards from your deck every time your opponent summons a monster. Mulcharmy Purulia draws every time your opponent summons from the hand, Fuwalos draws for the deck and Extra Deck, and Meowls draws for cards summoned from the GY or Banishment. These reprints come in common, making them much more accessible than their high rarity original printings. Other reprints include older staples like Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Effect Veiler, Infinite Impermanence, and Forbidden Droplet to name a few. Monster cards like Garden Rose Maiden, Revolution Synchron, and Blackwing - Silverwind the Ascendant also enjoy lower rarity printings in this set to make them more accessible.
With so much to offer, Legendary 5D's Decks might be one of the best Yu-Gi-Oh! products of 2025. Whether you're playing with friends or upgrading your competitive deck with much needed staples, you have everything you need to go fast and feel alive.
