Hello happy Commander, multiplayer, Highlander, Five Color, Type Four, Peasant and Pauper and other kitchen table format lovers! I wanted to knock out another Top cards for you all from the latest set called Aetherdrift for y'all! The first was here for my favorite 10 cards and 4 honorable mentions, the next was here for Top 15 with one honorable mention - 30 total. Last Week was another Top 15 with an honorable mention for 46 cards! This is not cards from Commander that has its own separate list since those new cards are made for us. Let's finish this up with double my normal Top 10 with a Top 20 with four Honorable Mentions to get me to an even Top 70. I don't think you wanna keep this up so I am calling it here.
Honorable Mention
Rover Blades
This three-drop uncommon 2/2 Equipment and Vee with crew 2 and equip four is next! It both has and gives double strike, and we know how rare that is on colorless stuff ever since Fireshrieker broke stuff. If you've got a Commander with a damage trigger like Rith you need this. Or in Aggro, Vee, Voltron, loads more stuff and unlike most Equipment this can swing after being crewed but doesn't count as a dork for removal purposes.
Bulwark Ox
This two-drop Bear in White is next! It has saddle one and then when it swings saddled it grows with a +1/+1 counter and then you can sac it to give all stuff you have with counters of any sort indestructible and hexproof this turn like a Heroic Intervention that cost no mana or tapping it. We know how popular that archetype is with fellow kitchen fans! It's the 5th most played at EDHREC.com!
Marketback Walker
This XX dork arrives with X counters for the previous one to save! You can add one for four mana and then when it dies? Draw a card for each counter, great stuff there. Love it's card draw and beats and mana sink potential much.
Boosted Sloop
This Izzet colored uncommon three-drop 3/3 menace crew 1 is next! It's got an attack trigger for all of your stuff, not just it, to draw and then discard, so loot one. Drop it prior to swinging and get thee effect. Note this is for each creature that brings the heat, not just one, so you could dig deeply in each of your turns. Love it much!
#20. Ooze Patrol
This four-drop game winner enters with +1/+1 counters for each artifact and dork in your graveyard like a Lhurgoyf for just you but better with artifacts too. This loves set up with discarding, cycling and milling or reanimation like Buried Alive and other effects. Love this little thing loads, particularly in 20 life formats as a vanilla 8/8 or 9/9 can kill in just a few hits. It's also splashable.
#19. Dredger's Insight
This two-drop enchantment will gain you a life each time an artifact or critter leaves your graveyard for anywhere! Regrowth to your hand? Life! Zombify to the battlefield? Life! Shuffle with Junktroller? Life! Exile? Life! Then when this arrives you can mill four and then Regrowth Dead one of those or a land too to your hand! Strong value over time and it replaces itself with good stuff.
#18. District Mascot, Skycrash AND Webstrike Elite
Next are this triuminvirate of artifact removal! The one-drop Dog Mount ETBs with a +1/+1 counter and then gets one when mounted and swung and you can pull two off with two mana tor Shatter! Nasty goood, like Steelbane Hydra! The two-cost instant speed mono-red cycling for one mana also destroys an artifact for Shatter's cost, cheaper than Smash and a cheaper cycle for it too. The cyclng two-drop 3/3 in Green rare with reach and cycling XGG will cycle to Naturalize a card with that mana value - and that's harder to answer with counters since it wasn't cast!
#17. Fuel the Flames with a shout out to Shefet Archfiend
Next are these two Rakdos colored uncommon small stuff sweepers. The one worth the spot is the three mana instant speed Pyroclasm with cyling for two. Great for EOT sweeping and then untapping and dropping 2 toughness stuff or when you are attacked outright and then you can kill the small stuff that swang your way! Shout out to the seven-drop 5/5 flyer with an Infest ETB to kill better with no indestructible stuff. It's worse with the cost and arrives late, but with that cycling you can just pitch and draw.
#16. Boommobile
This four-drop rare Vee in mono-red arrives with four mana of a color like the beloved Priest of Gix! Just for abilities, sure, but strong and then cycling will count. It also has a three mana and then X exhaust to Blaze and toss +1/+1 counters here too! Player or their stuff kill attached to growing? Strong stuff! And you can crew this for two and its base is 5/5 not bad. Strong Vee times commence!
#15. Gas Guzzler
This one-drop start your engines 2/1 ETB tapped is next! With max speed you can spend a Black mana to sac a dork or Vee for a card. Strong card flow you need to dig or just generally too. Love it in Aggro, Aristocrat, Sacrifice Matters and Vee-ness in all of the builds.
#14. All Five Mana Accelerants or Familiars
Next up are the five above mana tappers or artifact cost reducers. Voyager Quickwelder reduces their cost, great for mana rocks to card draw to good artifact stuff. Guidelight Optimizer taps for a Blue mana but only for that artifact cost or abiltiy too. Endrider Catalyzer has start your engines and then taps for two red for anything with max speed. Molt Tender taps with nothing to mill and then later taps with nothing to exile and then make any mana. When Veloheart Bike ETBs you'll gain two life with a 4/2 body and then crew two taps for any color.
#13. Guidelight Synergist
This four-drop mono-White uncommon flying artifact Robot is next! It's got a four toughness and power boosts equal to your flying count and on a flyer artifact body that's brilliant. Strong win con there my friend, strong win con!
#12. Cursecloth Wrappings
This four-drop Black artifact rare is next! They start with giving your Zombie kindred +1/+1 like a harder to answer artifact non-dork lord. Then you can tap it for no mana to make one of your dorks you target embalm able for its mana cost and that means it comes back as a copy token that's a White Zombie at sorcery speed and then that'll be pumped by the Wrappings too! Love it much in and out of Zombie brews where it doesn't need to be kept since it's great with milling, aggro, recursion and loads more spaces. My only issue is that the dorks are exiled, so that's a one of.
#11. Kolodin, Triumph Caster
This two-drop Boros colored legendary dork to lead your Commander brew with a sizeable 2/3 body is next! Your Mounts and Vees get haste, nice to swing now and get the Mount saddled too on that second ability for their trigger or a Vee to attack for free it's turn it arrives too. Love it leading that Command Zone Mount/Vee Boros Brew! Or in the 99 of one too.
10. Stock Up
This three-mana mono-Blue sorcery digs five like Impulse but draws you two so you are up a card. That's great but I'd prefer at sorcery speed the other three to be tossed into your graveyard. It's not bad as is though just a bit underwhelming at sorcery speed. It's much better than Divination and such though. Waaaaaaaaaay better.
#9. Four Great Reanimation Spells
Dune Drifter will recur a creature or artifact with that cost to play. The four mana mono-White sorcery Tune Up will return an artifact to your battlefield and then if a Vee its crewed permanently. The five mana mono-Black sorcery Back on Track will return one dork or Vee from your graveyard into to the battlefield and then make a 1/1 Pilot with the expected crew/saddle boosts. Finally Broodheart Engine will surveil one in your upkeep for free! Then you can sac it at sorcery speed with four mana to Zombify like the prvious one the same range but no tokens made. Love that surveil and reanimation synergy in one card.
#8. Beastrider Vanguard
Next up is this on-curve Bear sized and costed and even rarity at common! Then you can mana sink five here to dig three and draw a permanent and then then rest on the bottom of your library in any order! Love that synergy and power loads here much with a mana sink in the mana-iest (All Made Up Words Are Copyright Abe) of colors. If you are top decking? Just do this and cast or drop what you drew! EOT and then untap and cast it too with all of your mana...as a common? Strong stuff for the win-tuff!
#7. Salvation Engine
This five-drop mono-White mythic Vee is next! Your other dorks of an artifact nature are getting a double size boost of +2/+2. Great for stuff like Solemn Simulacrum or Esper Sentinel. Then when this swings, you can Zombify an artifact to your battlefield from your graveyard and crew 6 to make that happen with the boosted power making that happen more easily, and then a 10 defense to keep alive through many swings.
#6. Samut, the Driving Force
She has three keywords: first strike, and two of my faves in vigilance and haste to get in an extra swing and then hold back for blocking and if not your Commander people might not play around her and keep a dork back to block when they swing all out. She's also got start your engines, and then your non-Samut dorks get a power boost equal to our speed, note that's not max speed but anytime, and then your nondorks cost X less which is, again, your speed! Love this little lady much!
#5. Burnout Bashtronaut
This well-placed on the curve 1/1 aggro mono-Red Goblin Warrior is next! You'll get evasion with menace and then start your engines and max speed? Double the strikes! Nasty good. Then you've got a two mana firebreathing too so you can menace and then double strike that as well pretty nasty for aggro, or Goblin brews too.
#4. Slick Imitator
This two-drop mono-Blue uncommon 1/3 also with start your engines is next! Then with max speed you can spend a mana, no tapping to sac this and then copy a spell, note that's even permanent spells you control like dorks, artifacts, Battles or planeswalkers in addition to sorceries and instants - Nasty McGee! That little Ooze is amazing in copy or Clone brews or just generally. Love it with magecraft.
#3. Winter, Cursed Rider
This two-drop Dimir colored 3/2 on curve legendary leader is next! They've got ward 2 life and then gives that to your artifacts en masse. Rough. Then you can tap them with four mana to exile X artifact cards to reduce all other non-artifact dorks in size equal to the exiled count, but just once per time until they leave play. There are a few reasons they're back here - ward 2 life isn't as strong in Commander, you have to exile your stuff so that's once of and they cannot be recurred or brought back and then it's a tap you cannot use on arrival and then exhausts too. But this Cursed Rider? They aren't bad at all, n'est pas?
#2. Point the Way
This one-drop uncommon ramping enchantment in Green is next! It's got start the engines and then you sac this with four mana to ramp your speed in basics to the battlefield tapped! There's so much great stuff there! First, this is on a cheap and recursive enchantment that comes back with stuff like Sun Titan. Then you don't have to have max speed you can just ramp two with speed of two, love that much. Everyone can run this that likes that ramping! And we all know that Green is the mana-iest of colors!!
#1. Mimeoplasm, Revered One
Our final card in my final list is here! This Sultai colored three-drop with X legendary Ooze is here. You can exile X creatures from your graveyard only on arrival. Then this gets three times that in size. Then you can spend two to copy the creature card save it keeps this ability and then size. Note that's permanent, not until EOT or anything like that! Its potential is strong! But you cannot copy it on arrival to the battlefield for an ETB trigger like Eternal Witness and it's just your stuff you'll eat.
I hope you enjoyed all of my various Top Tens from this set! Next week is my Top Ten from the Commander cards here. See you then!
