Standard is in a strangely polarized position right now, where there are mostly Collected Company decks which toe the line between midrange and aggro and decks that try to go bigger than the Collected Company decks with either Crush of Tentacles, Tragic Arrogance, or various Eldrazi and emerge creatures. Green-Black delirium and other midrange decks have been mostly pushed out of the format by the various Emerge and Crush variants. But OafMcNamara may have found a way to thread the needle between these decks and bring back midrange:

At its core, this is just a midrange deck built around the combination of Read the Bones and flexible Black removal with Goblin-Dark Dwellers playing backup and giving you the cards to power through the midgame. But there’s a lot more going on here than just efficient removal backed up by card advantage.

The first thing to note is the presence of the full four copies of Transgress the Mind combine with Goblin-Dark Dwellers. This lets you strip away key emerge creatures, Collected Company, or even copies of Crush of Tentacles and Part the Waterveil. Then you can rebuy Transgress the Mind with Goblin-Dark Dwellers against control decks to make sure they don’t find enough action to overwhelm your Goblin-Dark Dwellers. Additionally, the ability to use Kolaghan's Command to force your opponent to discard at instant-speed can prevent them from top-decking key answers and let you chain additional copies of Goblin-Dark Dwellers.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that this deck manages to combine card advantage and removal with powerful threats that can apply serious pressure. Both Chandra, Flamecaller and Goblin-Dark Dwellers are capable of killing opponents in short order, while Liliana, the last Hope's emblem comes up quickly and can reasonably overwhelm even Emrakul, the Promised End.

Finally, there’s a couple of one- and two-ofs that signal that this is a deck that wants to play a very long game. One copy of Dragonmaster Outcast is great to rebuy with Kolaghan's Command and Liliana, the Last Hope to force control and midrange opponents to topdeck answers immediately. Blighted Fen is an incredible on-board answer to Emrakul, the Promised End as long as you can keep the board reasonably clear.

If you’re looking for a way to play a more traditional midrange deck in the current Standard format, I think you’ll have a hard time finding a better place to start than this Red-Black shell.
