One of the most important things when building a new Standard deck with a new set is looking at what cards are already available that can help out your strategy.
The Kithkin of Lorwyn Eclipsed don't get too much help, as there are (almost) no Kithkin currently in Standard, but when you pair together the Merfolk of Lorwyn Eclipsed with the merfolk already in the format thanks to The Lost Caverns of Ixalan and other sets, you get to put something quite nice together.

The convoke mechanic is back, and it plays extremely well with both Deeproot Pilgrimage as well as new untapper merfolk like Deepway Navigator and Deepchannel Duelist.
Being able to tap and untap your creatures over and over again makes Deeproot Pilgrimage very happy, and Deeproot Pilgrimage gives you an army of small fish to tap. Disruptor of Currents gives you a huge amount of flexibility on offense and defense, and while it's expensive, Harmonized Crescendo can draw a finfull of cards.
This deck impressed me far more than I thought it would!
