Lorwyn Eclipsed Prereleases Happening This Weekend

At long last, one of the most hotly anticipated sets in sometime is here. Lorwyn Eclipsed marks a return to a beloved plane that didn't do quite so hot the first time around, but is back once more to prove itself. The set is packed with tons of awesome new cards that riff off of the themes from the original Lorwyn and Shadowmoor blocks and is looking to be one of the biggest releases of 2026! Content creators everywhere got to share some of the gameplay during early access events for MTG Arena and Magic Online prior to the festivities so make sure to check those out before heading to your local game store!
Can't find what you want from the set locally? No problem! Head over to the Lorwyn Eclipsed page right here on CoolStuffInc and pick up everything from sealed to singles to supplies. Orders start shipping today, and if you're looking for something to jam at Regional Championship Portland next week, you can do event pickup on site that weekend!
No matter how you do so, though, be sure to get out and support this incredible in-universe release!

NEW SECRET LAIR ALERT!!
Fallout is back once more for another round of cards, this time in Secret Lair form! These cards are clearly meant to tap into the new season of the Fallout TV series, as well as some of the series' more beloved properties and moments. Four new lairs are on their way in this upcoming Superdrop hitting the internet on January 29th. Some include brand new cards while others lean into reprints - including some choice Fallout set reprints that have yet to see a reprint anywhere else!
You can check out the BlueSky post above for more information, or check the official announcement article here.

Remember that trailer for Lorwyn Eclipsed that kicked off the set's debut stream? You know, the one where Wizards of the Coast collaborated with the Jim Henson Company using puppets? Well they're keeping the train rolling by using the primary focal points of that video - the goblins named Squen and Cragg - in additional marketing shorts.
These short videos have been all over social media. I've simply included only one above, but there are several now! These videos are played as brief skits where the two characters appear to have a podcast and get up to all kinds of silly shenanigans. It's an inspired bit of marketing and I can't recommend checking it out enough - especially going into the prerelease weekend ahead.

Congratulations to Kye Nelson, winner of Magic Spotlight: The Avatar!
Nelson played Bant Airbending, saying "it's just secretly OP." It was a rogue choice, but it paid off as Nelson swept through a field of some of Standard's best decks on his way to his first Spotlight win.
Congratulations Kye!

In what has to be a storybook finish, Spotlight Series: Avatar: the Last Airbender in Atlanta, GA was won by Bant Airbending Combo! That's right - Aang and Appa came together for a stellar finish against the Izzet Lessons deck in the finals! Kye Nelson took the gold, beating back his opponent Oliver Tomajko in the process. This qualifies him for Worlds and puts both of them onto the Pro Tour!
Simon Nielsen is the champion of Magic Spotlight: The Avatar!
His Simic Ouroboroid deck triumphed over 746 Standard competitors in Lyon, France to claim the title. Congratulations! ?#SpotlightTheAvatar

I also want to highlight the fact that Simon Nielsen won the other Spotlight Series event happening in Lyon this same weekend! The mighty Dane proved unstoppable on the back of the potent new Simic Ouroboroid deck.
Congratulations to both winners!
