2025 Extra Life Secret Lair Announced

This week saw the announcement of the annual Secret Lair collaboration with Extra Life benefitting the Seattle Children's Hospital. This lair comes with four amazing cards each themed with an additional collaboration via the classic children's toy Play-Doh. Each card makes various tokens, encouraging players to make their own cool tokens using the fun sculpting toy. The lair will come in non-foil and foil versions and will go on sale as a print-to-demand item between September 29th and November 9th.

Arena Anthologies 3 and 4 Released for MTG Arena

In addition to Through the Omenpaths - the in-universe version of Marvel's Spider-Man - coming to Arena next week, two other releases hit the client this week. Both Arena Anthology 3 and Arena Anthology 4 were discovered in the game's client as fully craftable and playable. It wasn't long before a proper announcement came out - which you can read here - for both items. Arena Anthology 3 represents another set of powerful cards that seem very much like they're coming to the client for Cube. The other set, Arena Anthology 4, is much more modest by comparison, making a meager collection of creatures that were previously Momir exclusive playable and collectible outside the niche format. Log into the client now and pick them up!

Unfortunately, longtime deck-builder yoman5 has elected to skip the usual decklist dump for the new set with Marvel's Spider-Man. Instead, I figured I'd highlight some Modern goodness with the upcoming Modern Pro Tour in Atlanta next week. Goryo's Vengeance has long been a popular deck in the format and is getting some newfound popularity thanks to the printing of Quantum Riddler. The deck combines the card effectively alongside Ephemerate and drowns opponents in card advantage in the process. This fresh innovation is sure to make it a standout at the Pro Tour, but we'll have to see if it takes it down or if something else comes out on top instead!
