First up, William "Huey" Jensen joined on the call with host Blake Rasmussen to announce a new play series: the Magic Limited Championship! This event will begin in 2027 with qualifying events happening throughout 2026. Qualification methods include top 16 drafters from the year's premier play season, the world champion, hall of famers who wish to use their annual invites, or others who attend Limited Championship Qualifiers at a variety of events. You can check out all the details here. Roman Fusco will have an article here on CoolStuffInc discussing the matter soon if you want another look at the topic!
No major changes to the Brackets this time, but we've been working on clarifying some of the ~*vibes~* around each Bracket, including adding "safe turns" and delineating expectations for decks, win conditions, and gameplay.
We've also removed tutor restriction from 1 & 2.

The real meat and potatoes of the stream came in the form of the Commander Brackets Beta update. Once more, the brackets were individually overhauled to provide a better sense of clarity to players. Additionally, ten Game Changer cards were removed from that list, with many being determined to have been overshoots as WotC and the Commander Format Panel seek to find the sweet spot for the list. Finally, several topics were floated with the goal of getting player feedback, such as potential bannings, a possible 6th bracket, and a change to hybrid mana color identity rules.
You can read all the details in the full official write-up by Gavin Verhey here. Alternatively, I have written my own article breaking down many of these elements in a more simplified manner, which you can check out here.

Powered Cube - perhaps better known as Vintage Cube to many - has become a staple of Magic diehards for years. For a long time, it's largely been relegated to only being available on Magic Online which has the deepest pool of cards a digital Magic client can offer. That is, until now. Powered Cube is making its way onto MTG Arena for a few weeks starting on October 8th! It's a fairly standard Vintage Cube-style experience and should be an excellent opportunity to check it out if you've never had the chance to play it before.

This past weekend saw the first US Regional Championship for the Modern round of RCs! The event was taken down by Jeskai Blink, the newest hotness in the format, piloted in the hands of Vinnie Fino. This deck utilizes blink effects like Ephemerate and Phelia, Exuberant Shepherd to generate ridiculous amounts of value amounts of value with cards like Solitude and Quantum Riddler. The latter of the two in particular has been making waves in multiple decks across several formats, so it's hardly a surprise to see it taking Modern by storm in decks like this.
Congratulations Vinnie on your victory!
