Monster Hunter Secret Lairs Postponed
We care a lot about the worlds we get to celebrate, and Secret Lair x Monster Hunter didn't quite come together the way it should have. We hear you, so we're heading back to the drawing board to rework this Superdrop. More to come.

Last week, Wizards announced a collaboration with Capcom to bring Monster Hunter to Magic: The Gathering was happening. Several Secret Lairs were revealed with nearly 80 unique printings among around 20 different cards. Many players, however, reacted negatively between the card selection, incorrect names, and a lack of representation in certain elements the Monster Hunter series is known for.
As a result of this feedback, Wizards followed up this week with a second announcement that they were pulling the Secret Lairs. Instead of going on sale in early December, they would be released sometime in 2026 after the project is revisited. Nothing was specified about what actions would be taken to improve the collaboration, other than they were listening to player feedback. Keep your eyes peeled for more information in the coming weeks/months!

Strixhaven: Omens of Chaos Book Pushed Back To April
So a lot of us woke up this morning to an email informing us that OMENS OF CHAOS (have you pre-ordered yet?) had been pushed from February 2026 to April 2026. People are understandably confused, not thrilled, and expressing both these things to me. So here's what I can say.

Earlier this week, a number of people online found that their pre-orders for the upcoming Strixhaven novel Omens of Chaos was pushed back. Instead of releasing in February 2026, it's now coming out in April. While several people expressed concern, author Seanan McGuire noted that this was a good thing, actually. The book is selling far better than expected and - as a result - is being pushed back a bit for increased and improved promotional work leading up to the release. Be sure to check with your local retailer/book store and reserve your copy now!

Last week saw another round of Regional Championships in the books, with the second US RC of the season taking place in Las Vegas. With a huge showing of players, nearly 1400 players duked it out for the title. Despite being the favorite leading into the event, Jeskai Blink performed quite poorly with several others picking up the slack in its wake. Case in point, the powerful Amulet Titan took the event down in the hands of pilot Nathan Goldberg, which cements him a spot on the Pro Tour and Worlds! Congratulations Nathan for a sick run with such a complex and intricate deck!
