\Hello happiest of folks! Are you looking for support cards for your new Kindred brew? I've got my favorite cards for all types of brews from Squirrels to Soldiers! Ready? Let's do it to it!
Honorable Mention
Realmwalker - This three-cost 2/3 changeling can choose a creature type and then lets you look at and cast those creatures from the top of your library. Great with shuffle effects like Fetch Lands or Omens.
+1/+1 Giving Stuff - There are way too many options to name here, from Adaptive Automation to Vanquisher's Banner. Banner also draws you cards, Instruments of War has flash so it works as a combat trick, Icon digs and then draws, and Etchings can give your creatures indestructible when targeted!
Reflections of Littjara - This 5-drop Blue enchantment will copy all dorks of your chosen type when cast. Note that it says cast, not enters! If the spell is countered this effect will still resolve. And these copies stick around!
Progenitor's Icon - This 3-drop Manalith for your kindred creature type is next! You can also tap it instead with no mana to flash your next creature in too! Every Kindred brew needs mana rocks and flash enablers.
Haunting Voyage and SHOUT OUT to Patriarch's Bidding - This black sorcery costs six and then returns two creatures of a chosen type, or you can foretell it for your entire graveyard. Great stuff! There's a five-mana version that returns every creature, but everyone can choose for their own graveyard and it brings their stuff back too.
Roaming Throne - This four-cost artifact is a 4/4 with ward 2 to protect itself. It'll give your chosen types double their triggers from anything! It also becomes that type too.
Belbe's Portal - This 5-drop artifact will tap for three mana to drop a creature of the chosen type for free!
Time for the Top Five!
#5. The Card Draw for Everyone of that Type Quartet
Next up is this quartet! The first two spells in Dimir colors draw cards equal to the number of creatures you control of a chosen type, although the Black one also causes life loss so you could target another player to finish them out with life or card draw. Then the two six-drop creatures are next! The legendary one is a 4/5 and flying and and enters ability - great in the Command Zone or as support - and then the other one with a 6/6 body turns into that type and then has an attack trigger to draw and then discard one over and over again! Nasty good stuff here!
#4. The Kindred Cycle
This cycle of cards were designed for kitchen table play. We'll do them in Alpha Order. The Boon enchantment costs four and then you can spend 2 mana to give your dork indestructible as long as you control this. Then the six-cost Red Charge sorcery will make temporary hasted copies of your things for a one-turn kill out of nowhere. The Blue Discovery five-mana enchantment will let you draw a card when a creature of the chosen type enters or swings.
The seven-cost black sorcery will destroy everything else and then the similarly costed seven-mana green instant will dig until you find X of your chosen type, and then drop them to the battlefield, which can easily win the game by giving you loads of your stuff!
#3. Cavern of Souls
This land is next! It arrives, you choose a creature type, and then it taps for any color for it and then it's uncounterable too! Nasty good stuff there.
#2. Three Tree City
Need to make mana to break things wide open? I got you! Enter this land that ETBs, choose your type and then tap with two for mana equal to the number of that type you control, then drop more for more and more mana! This is kind of like Nykthos, only bonkers since it's just as good with tokens, and can tap for whatever color you need on that turn!
#1. Banner of Kinship AND Door of Destinies
This artifact duo enters with the ability to choose a type. The Banner gives a perma-boost equal to number of that type you control when it arrives (it gets fellowship counters!), like Coat of Arms, but just one type and then locked in. Then the Door ETBs and when you cast a spell of the type it gets a counter and then pumps your creatures equal to the number of counters!
There we go! Enjoy this as a great starting point for your next kindred brew! What's your top selection, and what did I miss?
