The Pro Tour Team Series will see a soft launch at Pro Tour Aether Revolt and today the rules for the series were announced. The series, which will have a grand prize of $50,000 will see groups of 6 compete as registered teams. Teams must register by January 13, 2017.

The complete list of rules can be found in this document. Highlights from the official rules include the fact that teams will be expected to compete in jerseys and have official logos. Sponsored teams will have to have their patrons pre-approved by Wizards of the Coast.

The Pro Tour Team Series looks to provide an interesting dynamic to coverage while adding a new wrinkle to the Pro Tour itself. Will new rivalries emerge? What sort of stories will be told? We'll have to tune in to Pro Tour Aether Revolt to find out.
