Big Updates Coming On Next Week's WeeklyMTG
This week's WeeklyMTG stream didn't have too much new to offer. The stream was essentially a recap of all the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles news that were revealed at New York Comic-Con last Friday. However, at the very end of the stream, host Blake Rasmussen revealed a few tidbits about what to expect on next week's stream, and they're some doozies!
The stream will be joined by Billy "Huey" Jensen and Gavin Verhey and both will be unveiling some new things. First, Huey will be coming on to announce and discuss a new play series that is "near and dear to his heart." Speculation has been running wild in competitive circles over what this could be, perhaps something new or a reinvention of something a bit older? Additionally, Gavin will be coming on to provide an update for the Commander bracket system and cover the discussions of the Commander Format Panel.
This stream should prove exciting regardless of what type of Magic player you are. These streams usually go live at 10AM PST/1PM EST on Tuesdays, so you can likely expect this to happen then. Tune in and get all the news or else just check back here next Friday for more details!
Pauper Format Update Delayed Until November 10
Hi Pauper players! I wanted to provide an update on High Tide.
With the wider Magic B&R announcement moved two weeks earlier, we will now be making our check-in (and any potential B&R update) that day as well. So that's November 10th. You'll hear more at that time!

Following a handful of previous updates delaying the revisitation of High Tide's trial unban, the Pauper Format Panel has provided another update via Gavin Verhey. This update notes that with the November banned and restricted announcement being moved to November 10, it makes sense to line this next update with that full announcement. This way, the Panel can provide a deeper discussion of the format beyond simply the examination of High Tide. Gavin notes that this isn't quite the kind of communication the PFP - of which I am a member - tries to bring to the table. However, in this case, it makes sense to do it this way.
Please keep your eyes peeled for this update on November 10th!
Spider-Man Survey Debacle
We want to know what you think of #MTGxSpiderMan in our latest survey!

Earlier this week, the regular Wizards set survey went out, this time covering the most recent set of Marvel's Spider-Man. As this set has proven to be incredibly controversial due to its structural changes mid-design, weak cards, overloading of Spider-people, real life bleeding into Magic, and more. As such, this led to a lot of people discussing it intensely.
Hey everyone, it's been a while since I've weighed in on something on here, but since the influencer team reports up into me, let's talk about this question (1/5)

All of this culminated in a specific question called out by many that seemed to take shots squarely at content creators who discuss releases of all kinds across the Magic brand. The discussion got so intense that Blake Rasmussen had to come out and provide further clarifications on the question on Bluesky. He notes that this will be discussed internally and that the company will try to do things better in the future.
If you'd like to participate in this survey yourself, you can check it out here.

The North American Eternal Weekend event for 2025 took place this past weekend, After a long two days, a Legacy champion was finally crowned as Tom Basketball (no I didn't make that up) took down the event on Mystic Forge. Tom beat out top format boogieman Dimir Reanimator to clinch victory. This deck generates absurd amounts of mana and casts tons of spells thanks to the deck's namesake card. Eventually, it wins by dealing tons of damage with Glaring Fleshraker and creating lots of tokens - particularly with the aid of Kozilek's Command.
Congratulations Tom on the well-earned victory!
