Vintage is one of the "Eternal" constructed formats from the DCI. It is called Eternal because it allows cards from any set released and instead maintains control of the cardpool through the use of the banned and restricted lists.

Cards on the banned list are disallowed in any decks or sideboards of competitors in the Vintage format. Restricted cards are limited to only 1 (one) instance of these cards between the deck and the sideboard a competitor uses.
